San Francisco, once a vibrant, bustling city, now feels like a ghost town. Streets that should be alive with energy are eerily quiet. Shops that would be packed anywhere else are nearly empty. Walking to a baseball game with my kid, we passed open-air drug use, people slumped on sidewalks, and the occasional needle scattered just blocks from the stadium. It’s no wonder field-level seats go for $50 — people don’t want to be there.

And downtown? On a work day Tuesday morning when the city should be humming — it was dead. Bagel shops, Starbucks, all of it — empty. It leaves you standing there thinking, What the hell happened?

So spare me the PR spin and fake optimism. The reality is clear to anyone who’s actually walked those streets. Your desperate attempt to rewrite the optics doesn’t change the truth.
