Heads Up, Abbotsford
Over the past week, AbbyPD has seen an increase in fraud-related phone calls and text messages targeting members of our community. These scams are designed to gain access to your banking information or convince you to send money.
In several recent cases, fraudsters spoofed the Abbotsford Police Department's non-emergency phone number, causing it to appear on the recipient's call display in an effort to make the scam seem legitimate. In other instances, text messages falsely claimed to be from the Abbotsford Police Department. We want to be clear: these are scams.
If you notice a missed call from the Abbotsford Police Department but have not received a voicemail asking you to return the call using our official non-emergency number, there is generally no need to call back.
The Abbotsford Police Department will never call you to request money, banking information, passwords, gift cards, or other personal financial information over the phone.
If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with the Abbotsford Police Department and they ask for banking information or demand payment for unpaid bills, debts, taxes, or fines, hang up immediately.
If you are unsure whether a caller is legitimate, end the call and contact the Abbotsford Police Department directly through our official non-emergency line (604-859-5225) to verify the caller's identity and confirm the call is genuine.
Stay vigilant, protect your personal information, and help spread the word to family and friends.

@carolejames Hi Carol. I have Parkinson's too. I completely understand the stigma that this disease can do to you and your family and friends. Please don't let it effect your inner life perspective and desire for living. Keep moving and stay as active as possible to control your mobility.
@PalmerReport Let me guess. This impeachment trial was such a complete sham coverup that it leaves the Republicans with zero confidence voting for truth and integrity.
@RepJerryNadler@PalmerReport@HouseJudiciary If the laws of the land still upholds the truth and that is what is being persued by Congress then the truth about trump should be open for all to see.
@realDonaldTrump Donald you said Mexico would pay for it anyways. Why the stupud over the shutdown? Grab a wheelbarrow from the White House garden shed, and pick up bricks and start walking. Don't forget bottled water...
