The Government of Sudan under Omar al-Bashir helped him for years during the peak of the Lord resistance Army's atrocity crimes in Northern Uganda in the 1990s/2000s.
We hope that the real commander and mastermind of the LRA atrocities, Joseph Kony, will soon be apprehended and sent to the Hague. With persistent reports of sightings in the remote area of Kafia Kingi in South Darfur, the Sudan security forces should help find and arrest him.
To permanently end LRA violence, the regional governments and the international community need to urgently arrest Kony and restart messaging campaigns that encourage defections. 8/12

Four years after Enough’s report "The Mafia in the Park: A charcoal syndicate is threatening Virunga, Africa’s oldest national park," some warlords operating in North Kivu still run networks trafficking in charcoal obtained from the illegal felling of trees there.
