My first dram this fine Friday comes from the wee Isle again. This is a new one though, a single cask bottled for the Ensign Ewart bar, Edinburgh. An ex-Oloroso sherry quarter cask, bottled at 59.6%abv. 1st impressions...sweet, spicy, meaty, complex, another cracker! Slàinte 🥃
@Edinburgh_CC@PoliceScotland can you please explain why you have completely closed the pavement outside our pub? We haven't had a single customer so far and would normally be full. Who is going to compensate us for the loss of trade?
@cllrcammyday @AngusRobertson@PoliceScotland@Edinburgh_CC why is it only my business that is being restricted? Surely if wanted us to close, you could have offered compensation, instead of doing it by the backdoor and causing unnecessary stress
@cllrcammyday @AngusRobertson@PoliceScotland@Edinburgh_CC I have just heard from a regular customer who asked to be let through to come to the pub and was told no, it is a "sterile" area. Despite this, people have been going up and down to @camobscura all afternoon
@edinhelp@Edinburgh_CC@PoliceScotland I have just spoken to a customer who was stopped at the barriers, told the police specifically he is coming to the pub and was told no. So you are actively targeting my business. Why?
@edinhelp@Edinburgh_CC@PoliceScotland That's for road closures, there was no mention of the pavement outside a trading business being completely closed off. The police are not letting anyone stand outside the pub on the pavement. People should be allowed access, it's a public footpath
