@ReachDrMuganga is undermining a legitimate debate by framing it as discrimination against him as a Munyarwanda. That is not the issue. An expired passport does not mean one ceases to be a citizen; a passport is merely a travel document. Many Ugandan citizens do not even hold passports.

The real issue is straightforward: if you acquired Rwandan citizenship while working in Rwanda, Canadian citizenship while in Canada, and later Ugandan citizenship, then simply state the facts as they are. There is nothing inherently wrong with holding multiple citizenships. The question is whether Uganda’s Constitution and laws permit a person with that citizenship history to hold certain offices, including that of Minister. That is the debate—not ethnicity.

It is difficult to comprehend how someone who wishes to be celebrated for extraordinary achievements (even claiming to have come to “help Ugandans and their children”) fails to grasp the most basic issues. @ReachDrMuganga ,the issue before the Parliamentary Committee is not whether you are Ugandan; that is not in dispute. Your Ugandan passport is valid, your National ID is valid. By contrast, your Canadian passport expired in January 2026, and your Rwandan passport, issued on 16 November 2009, expired in November 2014.

Here lies the inconsistency: you claim you needed Rwandan documents to work in Rwanda, yet the passport available online was issued the very year you purportedly left for Canada. You omit the crucial detail that your sister (who you talked about in another NTV Video) recommended you for employment in Rwanda, which facilitated the acquisition of a Rwandan passport. Recommendation from a Rwanda relative in Rwanda is the first thing you do if you want to work there as Rwandan (I know because I tried but gave up)

If there was an earlier passport between 2004 and 2009, it is not publicly traceable (trying to help you here because you are confusing yourself). The only one visible online aligns with your departure to Canada, undermining your narrative.

The facts are straightforward:
- Ugandan passport — valid.
- Ugandan National ID — valid.
- Canadian passport — expired.
- Rwandan passport — expired.

Ugandans generally regard Rwanda as an efficient state. If you were not a Rwandan citizen, its High Commission in Kampala could have clarified this to the Ugandan government immediately upon your nomination and request. That silence speaks volumes.

This is not a debate about ordinary Ugandans holding dual nationality becayse many do, and they work freely across borders. Your case is different: you seek high office, where allegiance must be unequivocal. Instead of addressing the matter with clarity, you parade sacred family affairs before the media, trivializing what should remain private. Playing to the public gallery will not resolve the fundamental issue.

It is entirely plausible that @Thomas_Tayebwa sought clarification directly from the Rwanda High Commission, and that their response to him was that you remain a Rwandan citizen.

Hi friends. I am well now and safely back home. Immigration officers in Amsterdam looked at me and thought I can’t have a genuine passport. They hadn’t even opened it. Held me back for so long apparently “verifying” my passport that I missed my flight. When I told them to check the passport because it has stamps and visas, they said those can be forged too. I have passed through Schiphol airport over 10 times if they had cared to look at the passport and checked my name in the system whatever doubts they had would have been cleared without undue delay and anguish. Anyway, they finished “verifying” long after the plane had left said I should be grateful they are getting me another “free flight” like they had found me stranded without a flight back home. When the “free flight” they got me was 24 hours later, they told me to either wait at the airport or figure out where to spend the next 24 hours. No explanation. No remorse. No apology. I don’t know if it was the anger or anxiety that made it very difficult to breathe or even utter a word and caused me a breakdown.. but it is very unfortunate that in 2026 there are people that still simply look at others and assume they are fraudsters or something. Luckily, good friends came to my rescue and also redeemed the reputation of the Dutch just a bit.. thanks @klup and Marnix🙏 we have already filed a complaint and raised the issue in many fora. I hope that at the very least they never racially profile any other person like that again.

This afternoon, I officiated at the groundbreaking ceremony for Kidepo International Airport in Karenga District.
I reminded the wananchi that Karamoja has come a long way from the days of insecurity, cattle rustling and lawlessness. The restoration of peace has created the conditions for the Karamoja region to develop.

The airport will improve access to Kidepo Valley National Park, boost tourism, attract investors, create jobs for our young people and expand markets for local products. Already, more than 1,600 Ugandans are employed on the project.

I thank our partners from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates for recognizing the immense opportunities that exist in Uganda and Africa.

Four patients have successfully recovered and been discharged.

The 3 new cases were contacts to confirmed cases who have been in institutional quarantine by the Ministry of Health.

Unfortunately, one person, a Congolese national passed on. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Fact: President @KagutaMuseveni nominated Dr Lawrence @ReachDrMuganga (born Mukono 1976, @VUKampala VC) as State Minister for Internal Affairs in the 2026-2031 cabinet.

Fact: @Parliament_Ug’s Appointments Committee chaired by @ObothOboth rejected the nomination after due diligence revealed three passports👉🏻@GovUganda (valid), @Canada (expired 2019, renunciation process started), @RwandaGov (expired 2014). Muganga admits prior dual UG-CA citizenship, denies holding current Rwandan citizenship, and affirms he is Ugandan by birth.

Fact: Uganda law (Section 19D + Fifth Schedule, Citizenship & Immigration Control Act) https://t.co/8i3hQD6DM5 bars dual citizens from ministerial offices unless foreign citizenship is fully renounced. Other nominees with dual status provided proof of an ongoing process of renunciation and were approved.

Fact: @ReachDrMuganga has repeatedly declared loyalty to Uganda and his plan to be buried next to his parents in Mukono which is his ancestral birthplace.

With all facts now public, this matter should be left solely to President @KagutaMuseveni the elder statesman and smartest Politician among us to decide Muganga’s fate. He nominated him. He knows the full picture.

@Parliament_Ug has done its vetting. Let the appointing authority decide what serves Uganda best.
