Entente District 23 North York serves over 2,800 members across the broader education community in the Greater Toronto Area. Entente was formerly known RTOERO.
Today is “Sea Sunday.” My thoughts go out to all sailors, fishermen and port workers around the world who, though marked by separation from their loved ones and sometimes by fear of the conflicts occur on the seas, sustain trade and the lives of many peoples through their patient and quiet labor.
"A Igreja e o mundo não precisam de pessoas que cumprem os seus deveres religiosos mostrando a sua #fé como um rótulo exterior; precisam, pelo contrário, de operários desejosos de trabalhar no campo da missão e de discípulos apaixonados" #PapaLeãoXIV#EvangelhoDeHoje
Nine years ago, Canada was ranked 120th in the world and most Canadian sports fans couldn’t name one player on the team.
Valiant effort from @CANMNT_Official.
We can compete on the world stage now.
Cooper: I've seen governments and dictators rise and fall, people and places torn apart by lies and hate and war. And I've seen people do things and heard them say things that I could never have imagined. I've seen what we humans are capable of when everything else is stripped away. Yes, great acts of barbarism and brutality. But we are also capable of remarkable acts of heroism and kindness. It's a choice, and the choice is up to us
Let's hope 50 years from now, someone standing here or somewhere on the eve of the 300th anniversary of this republic will look back and say of us: they didn’t know if they would make it through but they did.
Those who have lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea are victims both of decisions that were made and of decisions that were not made. Indifference to the common good and corruption in their countries of origin; a global economic system that generates poverty and exclusion; fear that fuels prejudice and contempt; the belief that such problems do not concern us; the criminal calculations of those who profit from the suffering of others; the slow and difficult transition from mere emergency management to the development of comprehensive and shared policies. #PastoralVisit #Lampedusa
“Não há amor a Deus sem amor ao próximo, e não há próximo se eu não me aproximar. Parar, comover-se, abaixar-se, chorar diante da dor alheia – como fez Jesus – significa entrar no movimento do amor, aquele em que Deus se revelou.”

America is a constant work in progress. Every generation must take up the unfinished work of the last and carry it further—protecting what’s right, fixing what’s wrong, and making our union a little more perfect. 250 years later, that’s more important than ever.
The Trump Administration wanted Pope Leo XIV to visit the United States for our 250th anniversary.
Instead, he visited the Italian migrant island of Lampedusa and lifted up the plight of those who undertake a dangerous journey to new lands in search of a better future for their children.
WWII Veteran and Purple Heart recipient Robert Hilliard:
"Next week I'll be 101 years old. In February 1944 when I was 18 years old I was inducted into the army and what they taught me to do there was to kill people who set up detention camps. Can you imagine how I felt earlier this year when they announced that one of the future detention camps would be at that same camp landing in Florida? We have a fascist, a fascist government, that allows innocent people to be put in detention camps and incarcerated."

Pope Leo on war: “Humanity possesses far more effective and capable tools for promoting human life and resolving conflicts, such as dialogue, diplomacy and forgiveness. The use of force, violence and weapons reflects a relational poverty that always has disastrous consequences for civilian populations.”

Canada is a mosaic, not a melting pot. A mosaic doesn’t dissolve its pieces. The beauty is in the arrangement, not the blending.
On this #CanadianMulticulturalismDay, we celebrate the diverse communities whose contributions continue to build a strong and vibrant Canada.
Today is Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and the National Day of Quebec. There are about 10 million French speakers in Canada.
Entente is proud to be a bilingual organization and celebrate the language and traditions with Francophones across the country.
We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas
Let us ask Mary, Queen of Peace, to teach us to renounce hurtful words, hasty judgment, gossip, and slander. May we learn to cherish and nurture love within our families, among friends, in the workplace, on social media, in political debates, and in Christian communities, so that hatred may give way to hope and peace. #ApostolicJourney

I spoke with the Premiers today about U.S. trade negotiations, our energy security, and Canadian priorities for the upcoming G7. As Canada faces an increasingly uncertain world, our unity is our greatest strength.
