In my experience it’s better to go early morning when shops are shut or tell the shopkeeper that you’re taking the photo. Then we don’t end up with people looking quizzically and awkwardly at being in front of a lens unexpectedly.

@DTDCIndia this is infuriating. My mother sent sweets for Ram Navami along with a lovely woollen knit cap and the sweets have been eaten and cap torn. I had to pick it up from the warehouse where I could get no answers about who or what has done this.
