I was in a London pub, having a burger and Guinness stout. At the next table, the waiter was being a racist to an Indian family.

"TUM BLOODY INDIANS HAMAARI JOOTI CHATEGA. DOOGNA LAGAAN TUMHARE LIYE!" he screamed as they ordered veg dishes and lime soda only.

In my experience it’s better to go early morning when shops are shut or tell the shopkeeper that you’re taking the photo. Then we don’t end up with people looking quizzically and awkwardly at being in front of a lens unexpectedly.

little known fact: letters are made to be seen, not measured. a geometrically aligned glyph actually looks terrible and type designers have used optical tricks for centuries

@DTDCIndia this is infuriating. My mother sent sweets for Ram Navami along with a lovely woollen knit cap and the sweets have been eaten and cap torn. I had to pick it up from the warehouse where I could get no answers about who or what has done this.
