@JamesMakesStuff But with the lower than expected diaspora support for Israel, Greece, Lithuania, France, Poland, Serbia I think the reduction to 10 votes did have an impact
@ge_aldrig_upp They should do this if they want to lose the top 10 streak. Changing the most successful Eurovision selection method ever isn't a great idea
@dolphin_dane The most important thing for the staging to do was the express the meaning and emotion of the song. They failed but having stripped staging like the preview video would not have worked either and the result would not have been much better.
@JackTheFact29 This year was the first year since 2000 that the final top 3 had no songs which were top 5 in the winning odds pre-rehearsal. Australia was the only one of the early top 5 to make the actual top 5, France flopped as well
Bulgaria won #eurovision 2026
It is, arguably, the biggest shock winner of all time at the Song Contest.
Here's my article showing how 'Bangaranga' turned from mid-table wannabe to a winner by a record ever margin within the space of four days in Vienna

@nikicaga They are currently in their most successful era in modern Eurovision history. To win they will have to send something that feels more original but continuing with this strategy will get good results.
Bangaranga 🇧🇬 breaks the #Eurovision record for the highest ever televote score for a song performed by a woman, receiving 8.9 televote points per country! It takes the record from 🇮🇱 2024 (8.7).
@eurovisionbets It was expected that the expansion to 7 jurors would mean more agreement between them, but that didn't seem to happen. There are more quality entries than ever, especially on a staging level, which could be a reason
@Eurogamble Although these results + the streaming numbers tell me people genuinely liked the 🇮🇱 song this year. They gained like 50 points in the east on last year, who we assume vote less politically, so maybe they just win without the returning countries.
@Eurogamble Maybe you could try, it would take a bit of effort. I expect Israel would win if you just used the results, but in reality I think votes would have shifted more towards Finland, Australia or Italy.
Impressively 🇧🇬 won televote and jury in both the east and west.
🇮🇱 interestingly had a more eastern split than the last 2 years, with their televote remaining stable and getting 2nd in the jury
🇷🇸 got 94% of their points from the east
