@MattJZimmer re: your discussion with @johnkgaskins
I put it this way: Im not sure for whom this new system (portal, NIL, gambling, etc) is for, but I am damn sure it isn’t for me.
"I hate war as only a soldier who has lived it can, only as one who has seen its brutality, its futility, its stupidity." - General Dwight D. Eisenhower
"I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine." - General William Tecumseh Sherman
@McFeely_Inforum Notice how these shills want all of us bowing to their AI masters, yet don't trust a non-internet enabled voting machine?
Wake me when these frauds abandon paper ballots.
@DomIzzoWDAY Tried to get a look at that painting but no luck.
Someone should let the nba know they are not the NFL. They can’t just put their games on any random streaming service and think people will buy it. Especially with gas at 4.25
@mitchgilfillan All this has been surprisingly quiet on the title IX front.
Will it require a test case from athlete A claiming to be underpaid relative to athlete B, or will this just simmer until a future presidential administration wants to flex a title IX muscle?
@McFeely_Inforum A ballroom with no statutory authority or taxpayer money can be wiped away as easily by the next president as a new executive order or with the same wrecking ball used to tear down the old east wing.
This relates to the question I asked @DomIzzoWDAY about the NBA/WNBA draft.
Absent big NIL money, the most persuasive argument for transferring will become the likelihood of being drafted. Self fulfilling prophecy for sure, but the numbers show it is happening.
There were 257 NFL draft picks this year. Here's the breakdown by classification:
P4: 239
G6: 13
FCS: 4
NA: 1
It's yet another example of the talent drain for the G6 and FCS due to the transfer portal.
@SamHerderFCS There definitely are standouts that don’t transfer, but are they as talented as pre-NIL standouts?
I think what you are describing here is the clearly defined shift taking place between the levels of play.
What the top end talent looks like in D2=>FCS=>G6 is not what it once was
This week in 1955, Frank Sinatra set a standard for how albums would be formatted for generations to come. The release of 'In the Wee Small Hours' not only set forth both the 12-song standard for an LP, but also began the idea of a concept album.
