@jtimsuggs It was the biggest threat JJ Abrams could imagine. & I guess it kind of works as a callback to the serials that inspired Star Wars. But it was a boring choice. More interesting story would have been Kylo Ren, tempted by the light, fighting captivity in a beast of his own creation
@StarWars0nly It’s a big galaxy. Presumably the threat posed by Thrawn will never reach the scale of galactic war. It would contradict Bloodlines. Thrawn may only end up posing a similar threat to that posed by Moff Gideon. It will build up at the edges of the Republic and be quashed there.
@HailEternal His taste in SW is awful. I don’t get why anyone watches him. If SWT were in Filoni’s job, everything produced would be lame fanfic power fantasies.
@TheStarWarsAcad@starwars It was sort of a Jedi Aikido — I thought it was a way cooler choice than just having him use a lightsaber again. Fans need to learn to allow for the unexpected more.
@SWCulture Well, her actions nearly contributed to the deaths of Hera and Jacen. The did lead to the deaths of two to four X-wing pilots. She is risking Thrawn’s return and all the turmoil that will bring. And she betrayed Ahsoka.
There could have been another way to Peridea.
@Conchobar2003 Drama often begins with “the lie the protagonist believes.” That is the basis for the journey of discovery that forms a character’s arc.
@Conchobar2003 We have to wait to see what Filoni does with this. But I think we have no reason to believe that he’s made decisions about her character out of convenience.
@ElElegido_V_5 @Mushroomcloud16 He’s toying with them. It’s like a cat playing with his food. Yeah, he could have simply ended Kanan then. But Vader is cruel. He doesn’t just want to destroy. He wants to dominate. He also wants this group to lead him back to Phoenix squadron.
