@KOAA It was more than Kratom. How many other drugs or narcotics was he on?

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@leamerican64655 @KOAA Did is come about it. I know what was in southern from my court hearing
Can't imagine the press it'll get

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@leamerican64655 @KOAA Is the toxicology report out yet or are they sitting on that for a reason?

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@KOAA THIS IS NOT KRATOM JESUS H. CHRIST! COMPARING KRATOM TO 70H AND THE OTHER SYNTHETIC CHEMICALS ARE ADDED.
IT WOULD BE LIKE COMPARING POTATOES TO VODKA. IF YOU'RE GOING TO REPORT STUFF AT LEAST BE EDUCATED ON WHAT YOUR REPORTING

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@misteaz79 You can say that until the cows come home and they won't listen. After a bunch do they will. I'll say it and I'll have Gloria say it when she comes home

I support DEA’s move toward scheduling concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH). Finalizing that action has been overdue.

As a manufacturer of traditional kratom products, I believe our industry has a responsibility to draw clear, scientifically defensible distinctions—and put consumer protection first.

Trace naturally occurring 7-OH in kratom leaf should not be conflated with products deliberately manufactured to deliver concentrated doses of 7-OH. Product composition, manufacturing methods, and exposure matter.

At MitWellness, we have refused to manufacture synthetic or semisynthetic 7-OH products. That decision reflects our values and our commitment to the long-term future of responsible botanical manufacturing.

The next step should be bipartisan federal standards for traditional kratom: adult-only sales, independent testing, accurate labeling, manufacturing requirements, adverse-event reporting, and meaningful enforcement against adulterated products and deceptive marketing.

Protect consumers. Preserve responsible adult access. Hold manufacturers accountable.

I welcome working with lawmakers, regulators, researchers, and responsible industry leaders to get this right.

Remember when the headlines were screaming about the two Ole Miss students and blaming kratom before the full facts were available?

Well, look what just came out in court. 👀

According to statements made by a defense attorney, one student died from the combined use of multiple substances, including cough syrup. The other died from inhalation asphyxiation.

And investigators reportedly found MGM-15 and MGPI, potent kratom-related derivatives, in both students' systems. The complete toxicology reports have NOT been publicly released.

Now I have some questions.

Where are all those journalists who were so quick to point the finger at kratom? And why aren't we talking more about the businesses allegedly selling illegal products, even after acknowledging how dangerous they were?

I've said it from the beginning: investigate EVERYTHING. Release the toxicology findings. Identify every substance involved. Hold irresponsible sellers accountable.

But stop lumping responsible adults who consume kratom into the same category as businesses selling dangerous, illegal derivatives.

These distinctions matter.

If the media had enough confidence to blame kratom before the investigation was complete, they should have enough integrity to report every new finding with the same enthusiasm.

Let's see how many give these courtroom revelations the same attention they gave those original headlines.

@OGKratomQueen @sarahkayhenson There's a reason the tox report hasn't been released. Trust me it doesn't take a week and a half to do a tox. There's a reason .

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@OGKratomQueen @sarahkayhenson I blame the Sheriff and the other head LEO Agency first. They were totally negligent and irresponsible at the very least. They are better than that and should be ashamed of themselves.I support LEO as much as anyone for a reason

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@KratomStory Be careful. You could OD overnight, have a seizure or just fall over out of the blue with a cup of that tea having no other drugs in your system and be in excellent health. Every KDA mother said that's exactly what happened.

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@HaddowMac When 70H came out I knew it would cause us trouble. There is not one legitimate reason to use it

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@HaddowMac Well said Mac.

The DEA announcement of the intent to schedule 7-OH and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl at threshold levels, and to maintain the scheduling that currently is in effect for MGM-15 and MGM-16 products, is a significant step forward to protect American consumers.

The change was arguably the most important DEA action since the withdrawal of the scheduling order on botanical kratom 10 years ago.

Some manufacturers in the kratom industry vigorously opposed the American Kratom Association's (AKA) efforts to actively lobby for these needed changes. Those detractor companies appear to have done so to protect their specific product lines to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

The bottom line is that the AKA does not advocate for kratom manufacturers, we advocate for botanical kratom consumers.

The DEA, with the needed changes on the pseudoindoxyl threshold levels and a tighter 7-OH standard, slammed the door on market access by the rogue 7-OH industry that put profits over consumer safety.

The next critical step is to enforce these new standards so these bad-actors do not continue to deceive consumers into thinking their synthetic opioids are just like safe botanical kratom products.

The consumer carnage created by the 7-OH industry that leaves many consumers of their synthetic opioids the same addiction cycle of signature opioids, will now have to seek appropriate assistance.

The blame lies squarely on the 7-OH industry that ignored the law on product safety. We do not allow a street corner drug dealer to keep selling fentanyl because the buyers depend on it. We cannot do that for 7-OH addicts either.

Did you know that 45%–46% of the FDA's total agency-wide budget comes from industry fees.(BigPharma). Getting paid by the very own industry you regulate.
BigPharma wants our leaf so they can make it into a drug we have to pay for.

Abstract

Background

Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa) is increasingly used in the U.S. for self-management of pain and mental health symptoms, yet its real-time effects on emotional distress remain poorly understood. We used ecological momentary assessment (EMA) to examine momentary associations of kratom use with anxiety and sadness.

Methods

A secondary analysis was conducted among 357 adult kratom consumers who completed a 15-day EMA protocol. Multilevel models assessed whether kratom use events occurring within the prior 180 minutes were associated with momentary anxiety and sadness, and whether these associations were moderated by past 30-day use of prescribed anxiolytic or antidepressant medications.

Results

After adjusting for covariates, both single and multiple kratom use events in the previous 180 minutes were associated with lower momentary anxiety compared to no use. For sadness, only single use events were significantly associated with lower scores. Past 30-day prescribed anxiolytic and antidepressant use did not significantly moderate these associations. Higher baseline anxiety and depressive symptoms were associated with greater momentary anxiety and sadness across the 15-day study period.

Conclusions

Kratom use was associated with small reductions in anxiety and, to a lesser extent, sadness in naturalistic settings. These associations were not influenced by past 30-day history of anxiolytic and antidepressant use. These results highlight kratom’s potential role in real-time self-management of emotional distress while underscoring the need for randomized controlled trials and longitudinal studies to determine its clinical significance and long-term impact on mental health.

@misteaz79 Very good! I have to tune in. Gloria never told me about this.

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@misteaz79 Exactly correct. You said it best.

[Environmental Det @Environmen0v]

@misteaz79 He didn't want "kratom pills". There's no such thing..He wanted 70H pills. I hate news outlets that just report because they don't know what they're talking about or usually to get the most clicks.
