Binisita ng pamilya ni Ateneo basketball player Rene Clert Baterbonia ang condominium unit na ibinigay sa kanila ng National Housing Authority nitong Biyernes, Hulyo 3.

Sinalubong sila ng mga opisyal ng NHA Davao region pagdating sa Madayaw Residences sa Bangkal, Davao City.

Ang condo unit na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P2 million ay may lawak na 42 square meters, may dalawang kwarto, terrace, dining at kitchen areas.

Una nang ikinwento ng ina ni Rene Clert na si Rovelyn na natupad ang isa sa mga pangarap ng yumaong basketbolista dahil plano sana nilang umupa dati sa Davao City para matutukan ang pag-aaral ng mga anak nila sa lungsod.

Nasorpresa rin ang pamilya dahil bukod sa condo unit, binigyan din sila ng appliances tulad ng TV, airconditioning units, refrigerator, washing machine, microwave, mula sa mga pribadong indibidwal.

Nagpasalamat din ang pamilya Baterbonia sa NHA at sa lahat ng mga nag-abot ng tulong sa kanila.

The staff of a tech store in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur recalled Rene Baterbonia's first visit to their shop, where he received a laptop as a gift in recognition of his Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the 2025 Palarong Pambansa.

In a Facebook post on Monday, June 29, RICKZ Laptops & Gadgets shared photos of Rene accepting the laptop alongside his parents and his younger sibling.

“Mula noon inaabangan na namin ang mga laro niya. Kaso lang hanggang dito nalang pala ang lahat. 😭 Pero gayunpaman, happy kami na nakilala namin si Bobet. Naging inspirasyon siya naming lahat. Pinatunayan nya na hindi hadlang ang kahirapan para makamit ang tagumpay sa buhay,” they wrote.

Baterbonia lost his life during the Ateneo Blue Eagles' team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora, on June 8. The 18-year-old student-athlete was laid to rest at the new cemetery in his hometown of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur, on June 24.
