I am in #Uganda, where the government has mounted a prompt and capable response to the outbreak of #Ebola.
Screening at the borders helped detect cases arriving from neighbouring #DRC, and the countryโs surveillance, testing and case management systems are doing steady work. Of the 19 confirmed cases so far, 14 were among people who entered from DRC and five are Ugandan nationals. Sadly, two people from DRC have died, and our thoughts are with their families.
@WHO is supporting Uganda, alongside @AfricaCDC and partners across the region, as the country leads this response.
With continued collaboration, I am confident this outbreak can be brought under control.

My boss General @mkainerugaba, I take this opportunity to report that the two candidates you endorsed & instructed us to deliver have now been successfully elected & sworn in. Rt Hon. Jacob Mackson Oboth is Speaker and Rt Hon. Thomas Tayebwa Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament.
This evening at State House Entebbe, I met the first NRM Caucus of the 12th Parliament and welcomed the endorsement of Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth as candidate for Speaker and Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa as candidate for Deputy Speaker.
I congratulated them and reminded the Caucus that since the inception of the NRM, we have rejected bad politics. When choosing leaders, we must first ask what needs to be done for the people before asking who should do it. Politics must reject identity, religion, tribalism and gender chauvinism, and instead focus on solving peopleโs problems. Our priority remains wealth creation and social- economic transformation through productive engagement in agriculture, services, artisanship and ICT.
@KwikirizaT96562@Uganda_Expozed Yes I understand that guidance, but just because I don't have access to the guide and a tourism car doesn't stop me for enjoying wildlife.
This is nature that everyone is entitled to enjoy.
