UPDATE: Reports of explosions on Iran’s Qeshm Island appear to have been exaggerated.
A US Central Command spokesperson told Al Jazeera that they were aware of the reports but described the situation on the island as relatively calm.

Honestly, it’s hard to process everything that has happened this week. It’s been an incredibly eventful few days, and there is a lot to think about.
The US midterm elections have raised serious questions about what comes next. Trump is unlikely to simply sit back and wait for the new Congress to challenge his administration. I expect him to make some significant moves regarding Iran, potentially including a resumption of military strikes. However, the possibility of using nuclear weapons still seems highly unlikely to me.
Meanwhile, Russia continues its systematic attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, leaving civilians without electricity and heating. Nearly five years into this war, Moscow still seems unwilling to understand that this strategy will not break Ukraine. Instead, it only deepens the hatred and determination of the Ukrainian people.
As for the negotiations in Abu Dhabi, I’m not particularly optimistic. At best, we might see a temporary arrangement involving a pause in Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries in exchange for Russia halting attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. But I wouldn’t mistake such an arrangement for a genuine path toward peace.
Unfortunately, I believe the end of this war is still a long way off.
It’s been an exhausting week for everyone following these events. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
Good night, everyone. 💤

Ukraine is increasingly demonstrating that Russia’s military-industrial facilities are no longer safe even far from the front line.
If these strikes are confirmed, Moscow will have another serious problem to deal with. And this could be just the beginning.

What do you think? Could Trump actually consider using nuclear weapons against Iran, or is this purely a matter of military pressure and strategic deterrence?
Curious to hear your thoughts. 👇

⚡️The situation surrounding Iran is becoming increasingly concerning.
Trump says the US has no intention of using nuclear weapons, yet Tehran is reportedly distributing iodine tablets near nuclear facilities and preparing civilians for a potential radiation emergency.
Meanwhile, the arrival of several US C-17 transport aircraft in the UAE, following the deployment of elements of the 82nd Airborne Division to Kuwait, adds another dimension to the growing military buildup in the region.
My assessment is that Washington is keeping the military option firmly on the table while maintaining diplomatic pressure on Tehran. The potential targeting of Iran’s deeply buried nuclear infrastructure, particularly the Pickaxe Mountain facility, could become a major flashpoint.
The coming days may prove critical. The key question is whether these military preparations are intended to strengthen Washington’s negotiating position or signal preparations for another phase of the conflict.
One thing is clear: the risk of further escalation remains significant.

🚨 Zelensky is right to oppose any attempt to negotiate a new European security architecture with Russia while the war against Ukraine remains unresolved.
In an interview with CNN, he warned that such an agreement could put the entire continent at risk, comparing the proposed approach to a potential “Yalta 2.0.”
I believe this is a fundamental issue: Europe’s security cannot be negotiated over Ukraine’s head, and Russia cannot be allowed to dictate the future security arrangements of the continent through military aggression.
A deal that rewards territorial conquest and excludes the country directly affected would not create lasting peace. It would only set a dangerous precedent for the future of Europe.
