"Havana Syndrome survivors also describe harassment: surveillance, slashed car tires, dead animals on their doorsteps, and evidence of home intrusions such as cigarette butts and hairs—the trademark of a foreign intelligence service."
"Sources report the harassment looks identical to what you would see and expect in overseas postings in hostile nations. A kind of old-school spy-on-spy harassment."👇
I'm sorry that this will piss off half the parents reading this:
Your 11 year old probably doesn’t need a $8,000-a-year travel team.
Meanwhile, mom and dad haven’t had a weekend alone in 8 months because every Friday afternoon the SUV is packed for another tournament 4 hours away.
They need to just play sports (if they want).
There’s a difference.
$3,000 team fee.
$2,500 hotels.
$1,500 eating out.
$500 uniforms.
$500 entrance fees
Every weekend gone, and somehow we convince ourselves this makes us better parents.
Then we wonder why marriages struggle. Put the kid in rec ball and let them play with their buddies.
Take your wife to dinner. Take a family vacation that doesn’t involve a Marriott next to a sports complex.
If your kid is truly THAT good, you’ll eventually know.
But I think a lot of parents are sacrificing their marriage, money and entire family calendar chasing a scholarship that probably isn’t coming.
I agree that most kids need sports.
I’m just not convinced they need travel sports.
That's me - the one who forgot their $5 hat for picture day on a team that cost $20 for the season.
@grnbee@ChristineDrazan Oregon is tied at 47th with 3 other states for having the worst unemployment rate and is well over twice as bad as the top states. It’s definitely more of an issue here than in those states, for sure.

Good Character Matters.
Today @ChristineDrazan made the trek from the Portland-metro area to Klamath Falls to attend the memorial service of the fallen firefighter Jason Ensign.
No media. No grandstanding.
She just came, sat in the back and gave her condolences to family and friends because it was the right thing to do.
She won’t tell you, but I will because our next Governor must have the character to make the right decisions, not based on politics but because it is the right thing to do.
Class act, she is.
A great Governor she will be.
@DrDave_99@AllegedLeee@EODHappyCaptain Go observe employees at a Costco and then go to a Walmart and tell me that you believe the Costco employees are more miserable.
