The following 4th century synod in Spain, attended by 19 bishops and 26 priests, completely forbad images in churches.
We also have Metr. Kallistos Ware admit that by 400 A.D. there is NO EVIDENCE that pictures in church were venerated (A History of Christian Doctrine, p.191).
There can be more Pentecosts today and further reformations. Let us pray for a mighty outpouring of the Spirit in our day and let us turn from sloth and cowardice.
And yet this myth is still promoted and circulated around by both Orthodox laymen and priests today. If THIS is a myth, what other teachings of the Orthodox Church are completely against history and reality itself, yet affirmed, spread around and popular?

"Who among the holy fathers ever prostrated himself in front of a representation made by men’s hands or allowed his own disciples to prostrate themselves in front of it?"- St. Epiphanius of Salamis
Can a church still be "the pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Tim. 3:15) while neglecting to preach the gospel?
Can a bishop truly be "Apostolic" if he does not have the same gospel as the apostles?
A quick reminder to everyone that Easy Believists are fake Protestants and their doctrine is highly dangerous to souls. Saving faith is always joined to repentance from sin and holy works for God.

How do the Orthodox know the "traditions" spoken well of by Paul are their own traditions and not the Roman Catholic or Protestant ones?
"Traditions" in Paul seem often the same as “sound words” (2 Tim. 1:13 cf. 1 Tim. 6:3-4) etc.

The modern Orthodox Church believes Adam’s sin and fall against God was not too great because he himself was never at a great height.
But what about God’s height?

If the law is clearly moral as per the NT (Rom 7:7, 13:8-10, 1 Jn 3:4) and Fathers like St. John of Damascus, then it only follows that we are justified by faith alone apart from any moral work of our own (Rom 3:28, Gal 2:16, Eph 2:8-9).

Chrysostom says here that the unconverted “were wrath, and nothing else” and completely lacked any goodness but were only worthy of God’s wrath.

St. Cyril from the third ecumenical council, Ephesus AD 431, seemed to clearly teach a legal imputed guilt to all mankind from Adam’s sin as well as the second Adam, our Lord Jesus, being imputed under the sentence of God for the sins of others.

The Father gave His Son in love to sinners (Rom. 5:8) and the Son gave Himself according to His will (Gal. 1:4). The Lord Jesus also had the right and power as God and Lawgiver, to bear the wrath of God against sin (Isa. 53:10, Gal. 3:13).

How can any Bible-believing Christian possibly disagree with this quote by Luther? Surely they have read biblical passages like Eph. 2:8-9, Tit. 3:4-7, Rom. 3:19-31, 1 Cor. 1:27-31, Phil. 3:8-9?
Imagine an archbishop and one of the most beloved saints of all time just casually saying Mary was guilty of the sin of vainglory (pride or vanity) and unseasonableness, all the while the whole early church secretly held to her sinlessness?
