Situation Update on Irish Defence Forces serving with overseas missions in Lebanon for family members

The Defence Forces can reconfirm that all personnel in Lebanon are well and accounted for, and are maintaining vigilance in their mission areas. Despite the tough conditions, the Irish troops remain steadfast in their determination and resilience to fulfill the mission.

The Defence Forces would like to acknowledge and thank the families of our soldiers currently deployed in Lebanon. Your strength, patience and support of our troops at this difficult time is much appreciated

One small platoon of Irish peacekeepers has refused Israel's demand to evacuate their post in Lebanon. Circa 300 Irish soldiers are not relinquishing their post. Unlike the Dutch in Srebrenica. 70 members of the platoon who were on leave before Israel's invasion wish to rejoin their unit. An observation from the count centre. Mulloolys supporters and campaign team were very comfortable hanging out with the likes of H Kelly & J Reynolds. Even having dinner with them. Personally I couldn't look at them. Let alone break bread with them. Dangerous and nasty people.
