@SjaakvanElten Clausewitzliefhebber hier. Je hebt helemaal gelijk. Dat gejuich over drones is erg vermoeiend. Hoe effectief ze ook zijn, het is geboren uit noodzaak, in ieder geval voor Oekraine.
Anybody up for a panel on connecting Intelligence Studies to Organizational Theory for the International Studies Association conference 2026?
The idea is to look into the design/architecture of intelligence organisations.

The moral cowardice of Scholz can only hurt #Ukraine, his country and the rest of Europe. Citizens in the west deserve a better, wiser and more courageous breed of politicians than this.
Western governments pretend they don't know that North Korean troops are already engaged in combat on the battlefront in Kursk region.
They prefer to hide under the covers like children instead of confronting bitter reality like adults.
Question for my UK military contacts: is Information Manoeuvre still a thing?
Can't find anything after reforms of Future Soldier programme that placed the ISR Group (formerly 1 ISR Bde) and 77 Bde from 6 Div to Field Army Troops.
@snowded He would indeed. But I already have a hard time convincing the military that the OODA loop is not the horrible linear depiction from doctrine. 😅
@snowded It's my understanding he already was deep into complexity, not just merely starting with it. That is not to say that his OODA loop couldn't have evolved further.
@gentry_johna@Sandbagger_01 This especially relates to analysts. I see cognitive diversity as formed by social, cultural, educational, professional and intellectual background and experiences. It's broader than DEI, but with a more direct argument for enhanced performance of intel orgs.
@gentry_johna@Sandbagger_01 The reverse also applies: The simpler the problem, the more homogeneous the team working on it should be. It's a dial, not binary. However, as a rule of thumb I would suggest a healthy amount of cognitive diversity in general is better than none at all.
