@FlyoverCtry@GlobalBoxOffice So if The Odyssey grosses $1.4B (the lower end of the probable range) and the backend is 10% (the upper end of the probable range), it STILL makes about $150M. AI calls this bad since it’s comparing it to a traditional blockbuster that doesn’t give up 20%, but this is a success!
@FlyoverCtry@GlobalBoxOffice I’ll be very generous with my estimates here. Let’s say Damon gets 5%, Hathaway and Holland get 3%, and Zendaya and Pattinson get 1%. 13% is not even close to 40%, and that’s probably the maximum feasible number. Usually the back-end pool is 5-10% in total.
@FlyoverCtry@GlobalBoxOffice Your other two posts are conspiracy nonsense so I’ll just reply to this one. No, the backend will not be 40% of profit. I have no clue how you arrived at this comically large number, but the actual value will not be big enough to turn a hefty profit into a minuscule one.
@FlyoverCtry@GlobalBoxOffice You’re overestimating back end, those will take a handful of % points out of the profit. Not considering streaming is arbitrary, Universal doesn’t care how they make money off it. “CHINA HATES WOKE” is the same thing you guys have said and been wrong about for every market.
@FlyoverCtry@GlobalBoxOffice I forgot about Nolan’s first-dollar gross deal, but as you said, the movie is already in the black, and it’s just been four weeks. It’ll gross AT LEAST $1.4B in total. If you want to consider back-end deals that’s fine, but then you have to remember streaming, DVDs, etc.
@FlyoverCtry@GlobalBoxOffice A rough estimate for the break even point of a movie is ~2.5x the production budget. For The Odyssey, that means that it broke even at around $625M, so at $1.1B it’s already made over $400M. I’m unsure where you got the $100M profit and $300M profit needed for success from.
@How_Fly2@CharlieRicker@NFLMemes Bills were driving at the end of the game down 2, they got on the outskirts of field goal range but the clock ran out before they could spike it
@505Allday@Barkley_Tap 2020 was undeniably an improvement but the team regressed in 2021, with Flores reportedly alienating his staff and the front office
@dude1067@KingOfPhinland I really hope this happens, I think Bain is the best player in the class (and I’m a Gators fan so if anything I’m biased against him lol)
If your #1 issue is Gaza, that’s 100% OK. If you think Harris & Trump are tied on that issue, fine. Move to your #2 most important issue.
If they’re tied on not wanting to abolish ICE, move to #3.
This isn’t hard. Put on your big boy pants and make a choice.
Every time you guys start a poorly planned war for unclear goals, you try to hide behind the troops and act like those who wonder if the war is a good idea "doesn't support the troops".
How about Republicans support our military by not sending them off to war without a plan
