Rahul Gandhi did a deep-dive into the ocean. It is time India deep-dived to understand the man who is doing something extraordinary: He is demonstrating political leadership in a manner few have.
While most politicians were busy trading slogans, Rahul Gandhi was underwater in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, drawing attention to a project that could impact forests, biodiversity, and millions of trees over time. And tribal communities. And you.
Because caring about nature is not https://t.co/3iX6525bic is empathy. Politics needs that desperately. #NoTelePrompter
@INCIndia
Writing this without an iota of hate of ill-will toward @Ram_Guha , @HartoshSinghBal , Harish Khare, @tavleen_singh@waglenikhil and many other Gandhi family baiters who have repeatedly targeted Rahul Gandhi and his politics of opposition to the Modi led BJP. I now understand that most of you are still fighting the @INCIndia of 1975 and 1984 among others just as the Sangh is fighting the Congress of Gandhi and Nehru. Much of legacy media and social media are dominated by these two groups. But here's a third group which became politicised in 1992 with the rise of Hindutva- the pro- Rahul Gandhi voice on social media is roughly this group of Gen X ers and a motley mix of a new millennials and GenX.
We are disturbed by the repeated attacks on Rahul Gandhi not because we are members of the Congress party or are blind followers of any cult- we are disturbed because the anti-Congressism of the earlier groups is blinding most toward the clear and present danger that stares before us - the existential threat to our Republic. Rahul Gandhi is among the very few of our politicians who has been able to consistently articulate that danger by his fearless attacks on the Sangh and its agenda of destroying the secular fabric of this country. He might never become Prime Minister of this country - but history will be kinder towards him than many of you would like to believe.
Last two paragraphs from this @Barugaru1 piece: "The question to ask today is what was done over the past decade that the acceleration in growth experienced during 1990-2010 has not been sustained over the past decade."
In simple words, India's lost decade under Modi.

🇨🇳 CHINA BACKS IRAN 🇮🇷
"We are commited for peace & stability in the world. We are monitoring the situation in the middle east. Our ships are moving in and out of the waters of Strait of Hormuz. We have trade & energy agreements with Iran. We will respect & honour them and expect others to not meddle in our affairs. Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and it is open for us."- China's Minister of Defence Admiral Dong Jun
"...the Anglo-American empire was built on fossil fuels and will do anything at all to preserve the fossil fuel economy." @GhoshAmitav in the Observer.
@martinvars@Turiya1879 This election is more a defeat for Trump and MAGA. Orban’s close identification with Trump has angered the voters. Magyar may be ideologically similar to Orban, but the election was a proxy for referendum on Trumpism and glad to see Trumpism was soundly defeated.
"A growing number of Indians travel abroad. They come back wide-eyed with barely believed tales of clean air, drivable roads and rubbish collection. Holidaymakers who have never heard of purchasing power still know that Vietnam and Uzbekistan are not rich Western countries. Somehow these places manage feats—such as conjuring pavements into existence—that the world’s “fourthlargest economy” cannot."
Mr. Shekhar Gupta has just put out a post claiming that during #OpSindoor last year no civilians were harmed in the “precision” strikes by India.
According to various reports from the time, this is not the case.
Having said this, this thinking about minimizing civilian casualties is what played into the decision to NOT strike Pakistan after 26/11. The Indian security apparatus at the time did consider this option, but they also saw that if even one civilian casualty were to happen, it would be used by Pakistan as PR and to paint India in a negative light. So they opted not to strike.
All Gupta ji had to do was Google civilian casualties during Op Sindoor before tweeting and casualties on both sides would have come up. Anyway, I thought let me do a quick fact check so that people don’t end up thinking that wars or limited wars or campaigns can be conducted without casualties of innocents.
