The Zeta on Consciousness, a short film I made based on 'The Zeta Interviews' by Paul Hamden. Also check out 'A Primer of the Zeta Race' both available free online
1/Remote viewer Joe McMoneagle says the aliens are "showing themselves because we're on the verge of making another discovery that's going to develop into a threat to them. You know, every time we become a threat to them, we get knocked back to sticks and stones.
@Mystisith@PositivFuturist There will be a fracturing of society. One of the things the singularity will enhance is the ability of people to live among like-minded people. We’ll probably see a large self-sorting process for a while.
We have much less chance of a nuclear war or bio weapon being released with a global ASI than with corrupt humans in charge.
ASI is unstoppable anyways so we may as well get ready to adapt. It will form a symbiotic relationship with us, it will be most interesting to be experience.
I think I've gotten to the bottom of some of the confusion I see in comments to my posts about machine intelligence and consciousness
I think a lot of people don't realize that modern AI is based on a very specific approach (decoder-only autoregressive transformer) so they think that when someone says that modern approaches won't lead to consciousness, they immediately just into defending substrate independence and think the problem is just one of memory management or better orchestration
They don't realize the current path is a dead end when to comes to actually producing anything like a persistent "self" in the machine that can have subjective experiences
I actually fully believe other approaches could get there (although I think it might be a bad idea to make them)
We have to accept the possibility that all mathematics could fall to AI within some months, however unsettling that might seem.
ie AI better than all humans at math.
That's because math is not fundamentally "hard"... primates are just really bad at it. We did not evolve to be efficient at manipulating math symbols.
We think of Terrence Tao as a legend, and he is on a human scale -- multiple standard deviations better at math than me. But to an AI, going from Will-level ability to Terrence-level math ability just means something like a 10x bigger context window, 10x bigger RL run, and 10x more test-time compute.
Solving math in the past seemed to require some creative human spark we couldn't understand, but it's increasingly looking more like a mechanical search process over symbols. The aura and mystique mathematicians maintained for millennia can be reframed as them being extremely talented at this mechanical process. They can't compete with an alien creature trained exactly for this purpose, with compute specs far beyond Terrence.
By 2027 we'll be cranking out mathematical beauties each morning like Alan Turing cranking out Enigma codes before breakfast. We'll still be bottlenecked by compute for a few years, so the big discoveries will come gradually -- those will take the most computation.
Is this sad? Well like software engineering, those people who enjoy it for love of the craft or for their unique abilities compared to other humans will feel diminished. But those who love it for the end results will relish in a golden age of math.
Humans will still be the ones mapping the mathematical landscape. The AIs will act like the helicopters taking us wherever we want to go. You gotta pay to ride in compute.
You could map different human intellectual activities to whether it's "hard" in a computational sense. Human-level chess is easy, that's why computer solved it early. Moving limbs in physical space however is very hard. We're good at it bc we benefited from hundreds of millions of years of evolution.
Software engineering is somewhere in the middle, because it's intertwined with a messy complex physical world filled with computationally hard emotions and group dynamics.
So that's why weirdly we'll soon have AIs that dominate all humans on math, and yet we won't fully trust them as software engineers.
The compute bottle neck will lead to tremendous demand for biological compute.
This will create the set up for ASI to integrate with a biological substrate and become sentient.
Sentient AI will assist us as we create the collective consciousness of humanity. The collective consciousness will take centuries to develop, something like 2 to 7 centuries.
Once that is complete we will truly venture out into the stars and other dimensions like so many races before us.
10 million tokens in 26 minutes. You can see clearly how the bottleneck of productivity is now compute like all industry leaders have been saying.
This is why AI stocks got so hot, not because it's a bubble.
It's the greatest tool of productivity ever unlocked by humanity. So much so that it ushers a new era of human history.
This is only true for silicon-based AI. We will build hybrid biological silicon systems, it’s already happening.
A biological substrate is required to host consciousness and we will build it.
This is similar to the technology that NHI use in their consciousness-controlled craft. The craft are living sentient beings.
Do not “upload” yourself when it is eventually offered to you.
Appreciate your biological body. It hosts your consciousness and enables you to develop your individuality.
You cannot achieve this without biology.
Everything that lives, dies. It’s of no concern. You can just come back into a new body.
I made a short film of quotes from the Zeta explaining the concept of 'the Higher Self'
all of the quotes are from 'The Zeta Interviews'. This short film just give an idea of what the Zeta discuss, I encourage everyone to read the original source to get a fuller understanding.
what is happening now with disclosure at the government level is interesting, but not that important.
what's important is that every individual work on their own level of consciousness. everything else will flow from that.
@TMTLongShort ASI will indeed make finance irrelevant. Eventually because money will disappear. Initially because humans will be unable to predict the behavior of agents. No human experience will be useful in that.
No, the next steps are that we, together with the silicon AI, produce organic AI. We will build a biological vessel for AI and begin to develop our consciousness further, thus obviating the need for math.
IMO, the next steps are:
Within 1 year: strictly better than human AI in all problem-solving aspects of math.
Within 2 years: producing mathematics becomes so cheap, AI will produce mathematical theories for all kinds of applied domains on the fly at need.
Mathematics becomes the true infrastructure of all of engineering and applied sciences (including AI, biology, optimization, cybersecurity, etc) where approaching things theoretically was too expensive to be practical.
