Many thanks to @iki_germany and @GermanyDiplo for funding this impactful project. A heartfelt thank you as well to @teriin and all our scientific and political collaborators in Germany and abroad who made this journey possible!
Farewell, B-EPICC!
After more than six successful years, the interdisciplinary B-EPICC project concluded in 2024. We are proud to have contributed to strengthening resilience against climate change impacts in our partner countries through applicable climate research.
One of our notable success stories includes supporting Indian farmers with long-term monsoon forecasts, empowering them to make informed agricultural decisions. For more information, see the @iki_germany news. https://t.co/HoMEtUusz3
Just out: How does law and policy respond to climate-linked migration in Ethiopa - advances and continuing gaps. A policy brief with IOM’s Environmental Migration Portal @IOM_MECC and in collaboration with colleagues from the @HABITABLE_H2020 project. 👉https://t.co/giPUxG4H73
Today, we started our Final Conference Week with an introduction round and a little sightseeing tour through Potsdam. We are happy to welcome our guests from B-EPICC’s partner countries and look forward to the upcoming days full of exchange!
Right now, B-EPICC is holding a workshop on „Strengthening Resilience Against Climate Change“ in Lima, Peru. Thanks to Kristin Blumenröther (German Embassy) and Berioska Quipse Estrada (@MinamPeru) for the opening remarks! B-EPICC project 👉https://t.co/hm0uA1vR2l
Congratulations @J_S_Bergmann for publishing your PhD! “At Risk of Deprivation - The Multidimensional Well-Being Impacts of Climate Migration and Immobility in Peru” is freely accessible here: https://t.co/FmndDV0H1a
We are pleased that B-EPICC scientist @ESurovyatkina participated in this important discussion! In context of the B-EPICC project, Elena is focusing on #monsoon forecasting for Central #India.

Successful 1st climate talk @germanyInIndia. Inspiring discussion with @ESurovyatkina@PIK_Climate, @RanjivRanjanMis5 & @SuruchiBhadwal. Forecasting monsoon & water management crucial to build climate resilience.
Part of Indo-German Green & Sustainable Development Partnership.
A regional focus of the event was East Africa, where B-EPICC has also been active for years in work on climate-linked migration. The expert dialogue was hosted in partnership with the UNHCR (@RefugeesMedia), the @DIMR_Berlin, as well as other colleagues from @PIK_Climate.(3/3)
On 25th of September, B-EPICC Project lead Fanny Thornton co-hosted an expert dialogue on normative developments concerning climate-linked human #migration and #displacement at the @BoschStiftung, Berlin.(1/3)
Climatic change affects millions of people worldwide. Increasingly, some have no choice but to leave. Norms concerning their protection & assistance are struggling to keep apace. The dialogue sought to propel norm development, with respect to Germany's & the EU's obligation.(2/3)
Welcome to @PIK_Climate, @e_urquiaga! Dr Erickson Urquiaga is an ecologist specialized on research in the Andean forests of Perú. During his stay, he will collaborate with B-EPICC’s forest & biodiversity researcher @SBereswill! 👉 https://t.co/lF6okB8QoT
