@Theresa_Chapple For us, 3yo is a contact, not a case until tested. Normally we'd just notify daycare to make sure child did not attend during Q period, but since child had already attended during some of that time, we'd approach this situation as if child was a case & notify close contacts.
I wrote this in July when the 2nd surge was underway. The 3rd is upon us; this piece still holds. The exhaustion is palpable in the voices of people I interview. They’ve been sprinting a marathon. So much has already been asked of them. It’s untenable.

🚨I wrote about the mental and emotional toll that the pandemic is taking on public health experts, who’ve been running on fumes for months, and who are deeply frustrated with shouting empirical advice into a political void. 1/ https://t.co/BGmsfuldMO
BREAKING: In case anybody wants to read the actual document where Trump & Barr say they want to take away your health care during a pandemic.

This is how I, a 45-year-old white woman and mother of 6, currently at her peak Karen power, went from assuming police work was a necessary part of functional communities, to becoming a passionate advocate for #abolishthepolice#defundthepolice, over the course of one week.

Harm reduction for protests in a pandemic:
•wear your mask + eye protection + heat resistant gloves
•yelling can spread droplets, choose signs, drums, or similar noise makers
•stick with a buddy group to keep your unknown contacts low
•carry water + hand sanitizer + bandages
Contact Tracing is one of the most important outbreak response tools. You can help make contact tracing easier & more effective for public health agencies by keeping a list of people you come into contact with!
We’re #InThisTogether
Listen, epidemiologists would *also* love it be possible for us to open up our communities, workplaces, and economies. We *do not* like things the way they are. But we also *know* opening now means many many people will die! And we like *that* even less.
"We are a small population of people because of genocide. No other reason. If you eliminate us in the data, we don't exist. We don't exist for the allocation of resources." --Abigail Echo-Hawk, Director, Urban Indian Health Institute. #decolonizedata#notinvisible
Hey Utah, we know it seems strange to have two M4.2 aftershocks less than a month after the Magna quake.
It seems scary because this is a new experience. You are all going to be earthquake pros after this.
Please share information from verified sources, like @UUSSquake.

An Equity Thread
A Pandemic is not more important than racism. We cannot think of equity as the second phase, or that we will "get to it" when we have time.
Here are some things that I have noticed, please feel free to add to the thread:

Thread: Can we have a talk about earthquake anxiety?
This is dedicated to all of our friends, old and new, who have been reaching out to us in direct messages and through comments.
We want to send you our love and compassion.

Before you share that god-awful #COVID19 Medium post that’s been making the rounds today (the latest in an onslaught of them), PLEASE read this thread by an actual bonafide infectious disease expert. (Especially appreciated the humanity of the beta-blockers tweet, @CT_Bergstrom.)
Salt Lake City, we will get through this. We are still assessing the situation throughout the city but the best thing you can do is shelter in place and prepare for potential aftershocks. Our public safety team is responding. I will keep you updated. #utpol#slc
Today and this week will be a great time to do a home hazard hunt:
Walk around your home to look for things that might fall on you.
Plan to strap furniture to the walls
