These viral concentracions have been used to estimate the risk of infection and illness for the workers and could be useful to estimate the risk a emergent (zoonotic) virus could pose if excreted in its infective form by humans and/or animals.
Lola Martínez presented her Final Master Dissertation entitled "Estimation of the risk associated to occupational exposition to pathogenic viruses". These are preliminary results than once confirmed will be published as part of @episars outcomes 👇🧵

We've been collecting surface and aerosol samples from a urban wastewater plant and a pig farm and analizing them for the presence of adenoviruses, as a model of a respiratory and orofecally transmitted virus.
Results on the use of Torpedo passive samplers presented by @CrisMejiasM at #SEV22.
➡️These are affordable and easy-to-use tools for virus monitoring in wastewater samples specially applied at a building scale.
