A1: After performances, I have my STOMP students watch their performance videos and we discuss what we think was successful, what needed improvement, and how we can improve. #EPSMindset
A2: I am grateful to belong to a team where we are open and outspoken and speak our minds. We always have different perspectives because of our areas and we always vocalize them. We never agree for the sake of agreeing or to appease others #EPSMindset
A3: As a teacher I used to base my success on how my students measured up to students at other schools and chose kids who had great talent. Now I focus on making them the best they can be and I'll choose students who can persevere through challenges #EPSMindset
Q4: I've already begun to promote growth mindset with my students. The way I speak to them has changed DRAMATICALLY! I no longer praise them for being smart/just getting an answer right. I praise the effort student put into arrive at an answer. #EPSMindset
A1. Thankfully, our new music curriculum is AMAZING!!! I am able to find just about anything that the students are interested in in within the curriculum. I also modify lessons to peek their curiosity. #EPSMindset
A4. STEM projects require you to work THROUGH the process. To asses both what succeeded and what failed, whether you can improve upon your methods, and how to problem solve. Just like Tiger when he practiced playing through distractions, getting to know the course, #EPSMindset
A3. During my rehearsals, I have some students who give up on learning the routine if they don't immediately learn it. They don't even want to try. They say, "I can't do it," "it's too hard," "I'm not good. While others not only continue trying, but practice at home. #EPSMindset
A2. I am going to praise my students' effort and character, instead of praising their natural ability. I'll remind them that their success is measured by how hard they work, push, preserve, and show grit! Failure, is not doing their best. #EPSMindset
