On this day in 1940, General Charles De Gaulle delivered a speech on the @bbcworldservice that has come to be seen as lighting the flame of French resistance against the Nazi occupation of France: "la flamme de la résistance française ne doit pas s'éteindre et ne s'éteindra pas."
'Book' is a descendant of the 'beech'; 'paper' came from 'papyrus'; 'library' is from the Latin 'liber', 'bark', and 'true' is a sibling of 'tree', with the idea of something solid, firm, and steadfast.
