@SJFriedl@anerdguynow It trivializes the process and expertise that it takes to do it. The ‘just’ may be on the very edge or beyond the understanding of the person you are talking to.
@robert0muehsig@davidfowl We are in the same boat. We have a small amount of old C++ code that does IPC via COM/DCOM. Those interfaces are deep enough in the stack that it ends up pinning the whole thing to framework.
@greentexan2063 @TesCalendar1 Refining, never mind the extraction and transportation accounts for about ~2% of the electrical grid load. For one industry that’s kind of insane.

What an amazing response from @mcuban. People just want to live their lives with dignity and respect. Finding reasons to deny that to people should be beneath everyone.
So this person wants to vent because despite thinking he was going to get hours at a job, he hasn't. You ever been in that position ? I have
Then he vents because he is living out of a car and is upset because minimum wage is not enough to pay the bills. Think you might vent because you arent making enough to pay the bills ? I have.
You know what I didn't hear this person do ? Ask for public assistance. Ask for money to do nothing.
They are obviously trying to be self sufficient and that is not nothing.
And you, rather than respecting the effort and the grind you want to judge them based on how they see themselves.
Who gives a fuck about how people want to identify. That's up to them.
I see a person who is trying to do the right thing and work and stand on their own
I respect him a whole lot more for what he is trying to do than what I have seen you do.
@Noahpinion@Tyler_A_Harper @BeijingPalmer Which is stupid because the cost bloat was to attract more students. This is ‘sure we lose money on every sale, but we’ll make it up on volume’ only in real life.
@LauraGMitchell I wonder if there is a product there. Wide and deep as a standard wheelchair. Wheels that strongly resist being pushed at faster than a slow gait. Sensors that log uneven surfaces, position, noise, etc.
@tottinge So much linting and compilation happens without ‘running’ it now that it isn’t as tight in the loop as it was in the past. The feedback is rich enough at authoring that it isn’t required anymore.
