[School Admissions presentation] ๐
Hereโs what @equal_education & @eelawcentre are presenting to Parliament today.
Many Black learners are still unplaced, but @WCEDnews refuses to be accountable. Learners deserve answers, not delays. Parliament must hold them to account.
Instead of presenting, the @WCEDnews told Parliament yesterday, with zero notice, that they are refusing to appear, citing their appeal of the judgment. They had ample time to communicate, but chose silence until the last minute. #SofundaSonke#NoLearnerMustBeLeftBehind
Today, EE and @EElawcentre are making submissions to the Portfolio Committee on @DBE_SA Education on the allegations of racial profiling of learners in the Western Cape. The Western Cape government is refusing to account and respond to racial allegations in the Western Cape.
In a landmark court case EE & EELC Metro East the Western Cape High court found that the @WCEDnewsโs admissions policy discriminated against Black & working-class learners, leaving them struggling to be placed #SofundaSonke#NoLearnerMustBeLeftBehind
[Mass Meeting]The parents mass meeting focused on school admissions. Parents had a powerful, robust discussion on why admissions should not exclude or disadvantage any learner. Letโs demand accountability and fight for fair, transparent admissions for all children.#SofundaSonke

Every child is protected by the Constitution. #NoToXenophobia#IsafetyNgoku
