Dear Victor Osimhen,
We write these words with an indescribable longing in our hearts. As millions of Galatasaray fans devoted to the yellow and red, we saw from the very first moment we watched you play that you were not just a footballer—you were a character, a warrior, a leader. With every goal you scored, every smile you wore, every moment you fought on the pitch, we felt like you were one of us.
And then came the day your name began to be linked with Galatasaray…
We stood on the edge of a dream we never even dared to fully believe. Our hearts started pounding with excitement. For years, we’ve needed a star who could not only shine on the field but embrace our jersey with love. And you were exactly that—someone who could fill that void, not just with talent, but with spirit.
We imagined you in the Galatasaray jersey. We pictured you walking out onto the pitch at Rams Park, in front of tens of thousands, as your name echoed through the stadium. With every goal you scored, the stands would erupt with chants of “Osimhen!” Children would look up to you, young people would dream with you. The passion of Istanbul, the fire of Galatasaray—it would all be amplified with your presence.
But it didn’t happen…
And explaining why—it hurts more than you can imagine.
Because we were ready.
Ready to offer you our hearts, our voices, our stadium.
But unfortunately, those who manage our club were not ready.
Leadership requires vision. Sadly, ours lacked both courage and foresight. They couldn’t take the bold steps that could’ve made this dream a reality. What we gained on the pitch, they lost at the table. Once again, we buried a dream deep inside because of their incompetence and weakness.
And as for the Napoli president…
We respect your talent, and always will. But De Laurentiis… his actions left us speechless. His stubbornness, his greed, his lack of respect for football’s soul turned this beautiful dream into a numbers game. He didn’t see you as a footballer, and he didn’t see us as a family—just a price tag. But we didn’t want to just “buy” you; we wanted to love you, to make you one of us. He may understand business, but he’ll never understand passion.
Know this, Victor:
Galatasaray fans love you.
Even if you never wear our jersey, you’ll always have a place in our hearts.
Our love for you isn’t limited by transfer fees, or blocked by presidents.
Because we see in you something deeper—something true.
And if one day, fate brings us together—truly—know that it won’t be just a team waiting for you. It will be an entire nation ready to embrace you.
We dreamed of you in yellow and red…
And that’s where you’ll live forever, in our hearts.
With endless love and gratitude,
A Galatasaray fan 💛❤️
