One of our approaches to addressing #ageism at @eldercareall is intergenerational collaboration. How do we remain engaged in this work when we cannot bring groups of students inside buildings with older adults right now? 1 way: Sending the @ElevateAging cards via @postcrossing
If we've learned anything, it's that nothing is more important than community. From our community to yours, please stay safe. #bettertogether#ECAstrong
Our team members are devoted to helping our senior living communities stay safe. Our own @2littlewings has made two trips to deliver PPE to @AlmaViaCamarill

ECA is a great place to work, and does more than provide excellent care to older adults in our communities. I am proud to be a part of an organization that also supports original research, arts and creativity, and emergency nutrition assistance.

What is giving you hope lately? To me, it's seeing how much people want to help one another during this crisis. We are in this for the long haul, so take care of yourselves!
The Coronavirus pandemic is a case study in the ways that ageism, ableism & stigma, which can be too easily be put out of mind for those of us without lived experience, are actually a life or death matter. Hopefully we come out of this with a renewed urgency.
Usually on Wednesdays I post a community photo. I haven't been to any of our partner sites for the past three weeks, and I'm really missing everyone. Here's a photo of our Jenga game from a community picnic in Visitacion Valley last summer. I can't wait for the next one!
Are you & your roommates/partner/children stuck at home & looking for a way to contribute? We are collecting digital letters for older adults in @ElderCareAll communities & would love to include your letter/art/photo in the 3rd digest... Please DM me for details! #StayHomeMakeArt
I have found it incredibly helpful to work on something creative for 30 minutes before I start my work day from my desk at home. I've been following #CreateToConnect to come up with short creative projects. Here's one I did last week - I switched colors every 20 seconds!
Positioning older people as expendable during this crisis is dangerous. I am heartened by the movement I see in communities to support our neighbors who are the most vulnerable - that's the world I would like to live in.

A reminder: although it's important to get outside, if you arrive at a park or beach & it's crowded, please try somewhere else. Social distancing is currently our best tool - let's use it. Especially for people who can't travel, the local park may be the best place for fresh air.
Today I have a little print shop set up preparing packets of letters written to residents in @ElderCareAll communities. So touched by the letters we’ve received so far & hope for more of the same in the coming weeks! If you would like to send us letters please DM me for details!
Yesterday I had a video call with a group of friends I hadn't seen in the same place for years. Now is a great time to reach out to someone you haven't spoken to in a while - even if they don't get back to you, reaching out can make a big difference to our mental health.
It is so difficult to stay inside and follow best practices right now. San Mateo County published a great FAQ that gives a lot of clarity regarding what is and is not allowed under the shelter in place ordinance in the Bay Area. https://t.co/ZbWsoCPWMQ
If you are in the East Bay and can physically volunteer during the weekday, please consider donating a few hours of time to help get food to older adults in need. https://t.co/zznEtBkY9b
