@caylanford@PardyBruce The key diff in this, IMO, appears to be who is setting standards. A community of people opting to pay for and live communally can agree to standards without requiring a paternalistic state. Others can opt to live elsewhere unimpeded. No coercion required just respect of choice.
@TomjSmith2@AndrewLawton I built a house and paid many contractors cash at the end of each day. Easily spent far more than $10k in cash. No questions of chqs clearing etc. So yes, it happens. Point is no one should tell you you can't pay in legal tender. Period.
@DrLoupis__ Oh good, just what we need, another authoritarian. I figured it would be that sociopath understudy of Klaus (number one?). Nestle is bad news. Stealing water at massive profits.
@kingstonist I live in the area and use this bridge daily - thank you for letting me know - we've seen no notices from Parks Canada, and no signage warning of this. Really appreciate Kingstonist sharing this info or we would never have known to plan for this!
@kingstonist Plain language would be good - nowhere does it simply say "fees will increase in 2025". Fees are increasing - okay, so be it. Just say that. Costs are increasing everywhere - its not unexpected.
@OPP_ER@ONenvironment Glad okay. Where abouts did they go through? Must be the southern leg? I live along the northern leg and I didn't see anything...just curious.
