NEW:
Doug Ford government pre-arranged Google advertising for their new alcohol finder website. Yet another sign that they pre-planned the LCBO strike.
Aamjiwnaang First Nation is surrounded by Chemical Valley, the largest concentration of petrochemical refining in Canada. This report reveals how data sharing with the community is manipulated to support the continued violation of land and life. Read more https://t.co/CsT7d3UnZx
We need a ceasefire.
We need the hostages to be freed.
We need an arms embargo.
And we need to speak out against rising antisemitism, Islamophobia and anti-Palestinian racism.
"The histories of the cemeteries that were located at former Indian residential school sites are evidence of genocide and mass human rights violations," says the report, titled Sites of Truth, Sites of Conscience.

Solidarity with the LCBO workers across the province!
@fordnation why are you trying to take jobs and BILLIONS of public dollars away from hardworking Ontarians? This $$$ funds our already starved healthcare and education systems. #KeepItPublic#LCBOworkersfightback
For 3 decades, the NDP fought for $10/day childcare.
On the brink of success, Ford PCs are holding Federal $ hostage & pushing childcare centres into bankruptcy.
ON received a 17% funding increase, but only passed on 2% to the operators.
Sign the petition to support childcare.
My office has long-heard of loopholes used against vulnerable tenants. When claims don't have to be proven and there is no cost to lying at the Board, justice isn't being served #ONpoli — https://t.co/HSRRgpk99q
Brilliant press conference by architects who built Science Centre w @ShamjiAdil
Govt used flawed interpretation of technically accurate statements & grossly misquoted costs.
All to cover up 600m tax-payer funded parking garage for private foreign spa.

Even more trees facing the chainsaw. If Therme Spa wanted underground tracks, they'd get it. Why aren't the PCs giving the people of York-South Weston what they promised? #NDP
This government @DougFord, why are you cutting down trees in our community when we were promised that the 1.5 km stretch from Mount Dennis to Scarlett Rd would be buried underground? #ONPoli#YSW@STOPthetrains1 You claimed it would be a "game-changer" for our community, but instead, we're losing our green spaces! #BrokenPromises #SaveOurTrees #UndergroundNotAbove
The Ford government’s short-sighted move to close the Ontario Science Centre underscores its blatant disregard for the educational needs of Ontario's students. This reckless decision is a disservice to students, workers, and families and to educators who rely on the world-class learning centre to enrich their teaching and inspire their students. The closure will also adversely affect the neighbouring communities of Flemington Park and Thorncliffe Park.
The Ontario Science Centre is a vital resource for educators, students, and families, offering a wealth of educational opportunities and hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning. Since 1969, the centre has played a crucial role in making science accessible and engaging, providing invaluable support to educators in enhancing the curriculum, inspiring students to explore and excel in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) fields, and creating enriching family experiences that promote a deeper understanding of the world around us.
The Ford government has shown a pattern of undermining public education, and this latest decision is yet another example of its misguided priorities. Instead of investing in our children's futures and supporting institutions that enhance learning, this Conservative government has chosen to dismantle an essential part of our educational landscape.
We strongly urge the Ford government to reverse its decision and prioritize repairs to this historic site so that it can reopen safely. Students deserve access to world-class educational resources that foster their curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning.
@deonandan A good sentiment. There are non-Indigenous folks whose families (the beginnings of settler colonialism) have been here since the 16 and 1700s though.
Strand me in LA, @westjet, and see how quickly I never book with you again.
Pay. Your. People.
I don't care if the offer you already made would make them the highest paid. Clearly you've been under paying them for YEARS.
Maybe look at reducing executive compensation instead.
This year, @fordnation passed Bill 151: The Improving Real Estate Management Act, which gives the government final decision-making power over real estate changes regarding the @mcacgallery. Like Ontario Place and the Science Centre, the McMichael could be at risk.
Canada Day is a complex day for Indigenous people. While we celebrate our beautiful land, we acknowledge a painful past and ongoing injustices. Commit to learning the truth and combating denialism https://t.co/eI58Ozxfqy.

A forensic engineer is on CBC radio news (8am) talking about the Ontario Science Centre.
The story is saying that repairs can be undertaken for a "fraction of the cost" of moving the OSC.
