If you close the computer at the set of sun
And count the pixels you have done,
And counting, find
One hacking-away deed, one thanks
That eased the mind of she who sighed,
One noise removed,
That fell like salve where it itched mostโ
Then you may count that day well spent.
I go to bed at 7:30
forget to brush my teeth
and in that dark and early
no app can hear me speak.
For all the great inventors
have yet to cog my nog
safe in the pre-bird-song hoursโ
Gorilla Glass my heart. #uxpoetry
There is a big research stream on the "attention-based view of the firm," showing that the attention of key decision-makers within companies decides what strategic priorities get advanced & what problems get solved. Scattered attention from a CEO or founder can be a real problem.

My days are aiming arrows
from one blue box to next
align, distribute, round a corner
convince, else err in red.
I chase a moving target
8 px forward 4px back.

Different people have different communication styles. Here's a common model. One of the biggest problems I see amongst companies and teams is one group or individual deciding another group or individuals communication style is "wrong".
It's unwise to tell a mother she's lucky to have a child because it forces her to get off the computer by 6pm. I'm getting back on at 8pm most nights. There's no such thing as work-life balance for parents, only better prioritization.
There is a danger-perhaps even a liklihood, that, as we attend to the day-to-day challenges of our own lives, the protracted, mortal struggle of the Ukrainian people will fade in our national conciousness. I hope not because the implications for us and the world are profound.
