Mikasa was so ill suited for the role that isayama had to retcon the curse of Ymir into being about eliminating the Titans, and for it to happen,mksa unalived eren. So a plot point and a storyline with an age gap that isayama custom built for levi to save eren’s life by letting himself feel and finish his arc, was mishandled by mksa and turned into being the thing that takes eren’s life
