An HW3 Tesla with supervised FSD would still have been one of the best cars on the planet for a wheelchair-bound spouse. Hands-free highway, auto park, summon, no gas station, no oil changes, huge cargo for chairs and gear.
You owned the Roadster, Model 3, two Ys, a Cybertruck, and vour wife drives an X. That wasn't some accidental fleet. You bought them because they actually worked for your life.
Unsupervised on HW3 was oversold. Fine. That's a fair complaint. Treating "Elon lied about robotaxis" as a reason to throw out a car that already gives your wife more independence than almost anything else on the road is a different thing.
HW4 owners might get a worse software split later. Maybe. That doesn't make an HW3 Model X a bad accessibility tool today. Hate the CEO if you want. Don't pretend that hate is the same as a product evaluation.
@RonnyGolisch Unwahrscheinlich.
Liegt an dir.
Handwerk, kein Bekenntnis.
@DTheduuud@Sebasti66855537 100% safe! It protects your hardware by reducing heat.
Windows: Set MSI Afterburner Power Limit to 75%. Linux: Run sudo nvidia-smi -pl 450.
I even wrote a custom monitor that auto-limits to 450W if GPU usage stays >95% for 10 mins!
@s3n0rac@Sebasti66855537 No, I have only read reports of 5090 melting during heavy AI workloads. For regular usage and especially gaming this obviously should not happen. 100% agree with you.
@s3n0rac@Sebasti66855537 A 5-hour gaming session won't melt anything because the load fluctuates. But pinning a consumer card at 100% power for multi-hour LoRA trainings or model finetunes is basically running a datacenter workload on desktop hardware. If you do that, you manage the power.
@Sebasti66855537 A power limit doesn't delete 8GB of VRAM or downgrade the memory to GDDR6X. At 450W, Blackwell's IPC and GDDR7 bandwidth still completely crush a 4090 pulling 600W, especially in AI workloads.
