@SpeakerJohnson Please the NRA isn’t the only way republicans can get votes. We want and need you to move forward gun control. Yes, there is no perfect solution but it will save lives and that’s worth it.
@SpeakerJohnson Please, we need gun control. As a republican and mother. The constitution does not say anyone has the right to military grade weapons.
Also. Can we please start talking about the level of violence in video games? We’re letting youth simulate killing people in video games.
I still don’t know what to say or do to share my support for the Asian American community following the Lunar New Year attack. But for now I want those looking to Twitter to measure public opinion to see that we care and that we need solutions #montereypark#EndGunViolence
#TyreNichols I don’t want anyone to think we don’t care about his life. We do. What happened to him is absolutely devastating and heartbreaking and we must let our leaders know that more change, progress and training is demanded. #PoliceReform#sayhisname
@WPrintAndMedia I have been calling and emailing your company after our point of contact left the company and the new contact has been unresponsive. Please contact me ASAP or we will take legal action to get a refund for our book that you have not published.
@SeanDonohue12 @RandPaul I’ve said this to others but I wish people would stop trying to label people as hypocrites in a moment like this. Statements like this are not helpful in a gun reform dialogue. You might feel some gratification but they’re just alienating anyone you might hope to impact.
@oceangirl0258 @SeanDonohue12 @RandPaul I’m just saying, it doesn’t help anyone to put people in boxes with labels. People are more nuanced than your statement allows for. And again, I’m referring to constituents, the American people.
@oceangirl0258 @SeanDonohue12 @RandPaul We’re not talking about the same things @oceangirl0258. This seems to keep happening. I meant that your comment doesn’t show any intent to understand those you may disagree with on other issues, since you brought up other issues.
@passon16@stealth883@RandPaul Well you would know. I don’t know where you’re getting that from but here is one of the sources that I’m drawing from. There are others that validate my comment: https://t.co/mzG1CbDvA5
@oceangirl0258 @SeanDonohue12 @RandPaul Comments like this are both untrue and just alienating in a moment like this. I understand why you’re angry but shaming won’t accomplish anything. Also, this doesn’t demonstrate empathy.
@stealth883@RandPaul Look, I enjoy shooting, I do. I’m no hunter but I like to shoot targets and skeet but I would happily give up that hobby for the rest of my life if it meant saving one. But that’s not what gun reform is anyway. It’s background checks and banning assault weapons. You will be fine.
@stealth883@RandPaul Double check your facts. The UK made gun control reforms after a school mass shooting in 1996 and hasn’t had one since. They had their first mass shooting in a decade last year. We need those kind of reforms.
Even if the #gunsafetynow reforms that are proposed are not perfect solutions to every mass shooting, they will prevent some and that is worth it. Any life saved is worth the effort and the work. Doing nothing is unacceptable.
We’d all love perfect solutions but they don’t exist.
@leineandsurf@RandPaul Your reply is morally reprehensible. Gun reform doesn’t stop all gun purchases or destroy the second amendment. If you have better ideas then bring them forward otherwise get out of the way.
