@Reuben45148813 Hi, I apologize if my reply was offensive. I would like to point out that this was 1 of multiple tweets and may not explain the entirety of my point. I was explaining why "all lives matter" in response to the BLM hashtag and should not be used, and why it is disrespectful.
@JeanFries@irms I'm not trying to necessarily call you out or anything, but for a while I didn't understand and someone explained this POV to me and it made a lot more sense why that particular wording was important to this movement.
@JeanFries@irms It's the continued disregard for that importance that led to the riots. And while I also have mixed emotions about the looting and rioting, there is also a divide between groups who protest peacefully and out of state protesters that instigated violence.
@JeanFries@irms#BlackLivesMatter doesn't mean other lives don't matter. It specifically addresses the fact that black lives are being valued less than other lives due to high degrees of police brutality and mistreatment on a national and systematic level.
@irms Definitely. I have felt that way for a file (live in a very conservative area and frequently see confed flags unfortunately). But also see the giant american flags on the backs of trucks and immediately associate negative. This would be an interesting class discussion.
@NintendoAmerica are there in-game settings for sounds in #AnimalCrossingNewHorizon ? I am having an issue with the non-spoken messages sound (dotted sound instead of animalese) making me dizzy. Is there a way to turn it off?
@PearsonSupport The obvious answer is to look on the website, but when you get conflicting information from your professor and the publisher, it becomes stressful.
The @pearson form has a required field that asks what product you are using. I had a question about a print text, but my product was MyITLab (not listed). I couldn't find anything that seemed close. So I got on with the chat agent.
@PearsonSupport However, I think it is important that you realize that a lot of students have a hard time getting ahold of support for simple questions. Especially with all the product options. Mine was just whether a looseleaf version of a book was available.
@PearsonSupport I was rerouted back to my professor. I will attempt to resolve it through them. I understand that @pearson is taking a lot of steps towards accessibility, and for that I am appreciative. (1/2)
This is not the first time this has happened, I have encountered multiple individuals who just need a bit of help, but can't manage to get an ounce of support.
I was given a link to the contact form I had just described as not functioning in a roundabout way that avoided admitting that no, there is no one to contact.
I asked if there was a specific contact to call for print books. I received no answer. At the end of the chat, I asked again if there was a phone number or email, and explained that the contact form hadnt given me the option to choose my category of question.
Eventually, I was given the answer that, no, the text is not offered in the format I had asked about, and I should ask my instructor again if the format was available. I do not understand this, shouldn't the publisher of the book know better than the instructor?
My question was simple: do you carry this book in this format? But I was taken instead through a round of unrelated questions. All related to the online course.
