@cosmicwolfywolf @centurysteve @FrankRizzo90 @TheNolffer @Rackspace Backups are only a part of a disaster recovery plan. I’m sure (less so each day…) they have backups for their hosted exchange that’s still down— backups are just one piece in the puzzle for getting operational.
@MediumLargeNFT @Stealx@Rackspace Fanatical support been gone for at least three years— always just been ‘can’t be bothered— good enough’ levels of service to not do a migrate… now it’s top of my list.
@cgsmith@tomsmit74283008@Nocturn614@Rackspace Create gmail workspace account, verify domain, add mailboxes for the mailboxes you want to catch— then have gmail route back all others to rackspack Mx (for the RSE accounts). I can doodle up a little step by step if you need help
@tomsmit74283008@Nocturn614@Rackspace Just pulled the trigger on this— and all worked really well. Good off-ramp from Rackspace— can slowly migrate RSE’s off over time, (and even push them to a cheaper MX hosting instead of needing full workspace accounts if their low need users) 👍🏻
@tomsmit74283008@Nocturn614@Rackspace The ‘logic’ is all handled in Google admin. So— set MX records to point to Google, set Google admin to route everything back to Rackspace MX server. Then add entries in google admin to catch and keep/reroute those emails on the exchange instead of sending them back to RS.
@tidepoolpushups @Nocturn614@Rackspace Currently looking at Google Workspace’s gmail https://t.co/DpUfgRtQWz hybrid routing— create gmail mailboxes and entries to mirror/dual deliver the exchange addresses— then reroute the RSE accounts back to the Rackspace MX.
@Nocturn614@Rackspace Yeah, this is us-- *hundreds* of users on RSE, tens on Exchange, migration impossible in any sane timeframe. Looking for ideally an 'MX Proxy' service-- so ideally filter the Exchange mailboxes to a 3rd party mailbox, and the rest remaining to the secure.emailsrvr
@loooorenanicole A kind of meditation helps for me— imagine very, very slowly walking through your dream home in as much detail as you can muster. It tricks your brain to break focus from the thought-loops keeping you hyped up.
@africatechie@marlene_zw Those $35 boards are going for >$100 on Amazon. Would be nice to see them expand into the distribution space themselves and cut out the scalpers
