First Lady Remi Tinubu Responds to Criticism
I know they have been talking. I said Akara, it’s not only Akara. We also have tomato sellers, we have Boli, and those selling pepper, selling vegetables in the market, we’ll continue to empower them.
I know all those who are affected will appreciate it, and we are not intimidated by all those wrong reports.
- First Lady Oluremi Tinubu
I am proud to have contributed to this and grateful that Mr President and FEC approved all our recommendations without any changes. We move! | NYSC Reforms: FG Replaces Military Leadership, Redesigns Uni https://t.co/j1VCnvckaD
Today, we received the first batch of our CNG buses, another important step towards providing safer, more efficient, and affordable transportation for our people.
The 20 buses are the first of the 50 ordered by our administration to serve communities across the 31 Local Government Areas. Work is also progressing on the central bus terminal, bus stations, ticketing system, and other supporting infrastructure to ensure a seamless transport service.
This is another promise fulfilled, and by the grace of God, we will continue to deliver projects that improve the lives of our people.
The more he’s against the coastal road, the more my hatred grows, I’ll even understand if the road in question was not being rehabilitated but I understand, it’s politics and two can play
President Tinubu outsmarted the IMF and went for an alternative financing deal with the UAE.
That's why IMF are angry 😄 😄
The $5 billion facility could help fast-track critical infrastructure projects.
The IMF advised Nigeria to stick to Eurobonds and concessional multilateral financing.
Tinubu chose a different route🤷..one that could prove cheaper, more flexible,
and less exposed to punitive market rates.
IMF is simply angry that Tinubu chose to borrow outside the European and American markets.
They did not tell Nigeria not to borrow. Their position was that if Nigeria must borrow, it should do so through Eurobonds.
Tinubu said no.😆😂
That is what is behind many of the headlines you've been seeing since yesterday.
It is not love; it is jealousy.✍️
I am happy to report that the Federal Executive Council today approved the comprehensive reform of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the first holistic review of the Scheme in its 53-year history.
For over five decades, the NYSC has remained a powerful symbol of national unity and service. Today, we have taken a bold step to preserve that legacy while preparing it for the future. We are transforming the Scheme into a platform that not only unites Nigeria but also equips our young people with the skills, experience and opportunities they need to thrive in a fast-changing world.
The approved reforms will reposition the NYSC as a skills-driven, productivity-focused and youth-empowering institution that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision of building a $1 trillion economy.
Some of the landmark reforms include:
1. A technology-driven call-up process.
2. Risk-sensitive deployment to better protect corps members.
3. A redesigned six-week orientation programme with stronger focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, digital skills and specialised career streams.
4. Skills-based primary assignments aligned with academic background and career pathways.
5. Modern governance with civilian operational leadership while the military continues to provide security support.
6. Improved camp standards through a national grading and certification system.
7. A new graduation ceremony to replace Passing Out Parade, and redesigned NYSC uniform that reflect professionalism and national pride.
This reform journey began in 2025 through a broad-based, multi-stakeholder review involving the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Federal Ministry of Education and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.
Today, that hard work has received the endorsement of the Federal Executive Council.
Council also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to commence the amendment of the NYSC Act and its regulations to give legal effect to these reforms and enable their implementation.
This is more than a reform of an institution. It is an investment in Nigeria's greatest asset, our young people. The future of the NYSC begins now, and it is brighter, more relevant and more impactful than ever.

Omo, The new NIMC law signed by Tinubu is one of the best reforms this admin has introduced.
Supreme Court Affirms Final Forfeiture of N1.5bn linked to Former NIRSAL Consultant to Government
The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Friday, June 19, 2026 affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal that forfeited N1,582,000,000 (One Billion, Five Hundred and Eighty-two Million Naira) linked to one Steve Ogidan, the National Coordinating Consultant of Nigerian Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending, NIRSAL, as well as several companies and individuals to the Federal Government.
The decision of the five- man panelist of the apex court led by Justice Habeeb Adewale Abiru, followed their review of the unanimous decision of the appellate court presided over by Justice Okon Abang on June 20, 2025, held that the ruling of the lower courts acted within the law.
The Supreme Court held that Ogidan's suit was unmeritorious and accordingly dismissed the same, ordering him to pay the EFCC the sum of N5 million as cost of action.
Justice Abiru also noted that Ogidan and his cohorts before now have voluntarily returned the said funds as part of an out-of-court settlement which further validates the trial court`s decision to approve the final forfeiture.
Investigation by the Commission led to a reasonable suspicion that Ogidan acquired the said sum through illegitimate activities, specifically bribery from consultants he was supposed to monitor and supervise. Resting on this, the EFCC, through its counsel, Ndeh Godspower Isotu approached the Federal High Court, Abuja presided by Justice I.E Ekwo for the forfeiture of the funds and on February 5, 2024, the Commission secured an order of interim forfeiture of the funds. An order of final forfeiture also followed.
Dissatisfied with the final forfeiture order, Ogidan filed an appeal challenging the order and seeking a determination by the Appeal Court as to whether the trial court rightly applied Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud Act by causing the money to be forfeited to the federal government. The appeal was heard on April 10, 2025 and lost.
The Commission’s investigations showed that cumulatively, between December 2015 and June 2021, eight of Steve Ogidan Consulting Companies; Successory Nigeria Limited, Beresh Consulting Limited, Blue Accord Nigeria Limited, Global Knowledge Consulting Limited, Freshvine Agribiz Limited, Richtigen Limited, O Stevens Consulting, Proteus and Enterprise Aesthetics were paid the total sum of ₦9,599,286,680.21 by NIRSAL.
Actually, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, is talking about it.
The $1 trillion informal market opportunity, from Amala, Akara, puff-puff, bọọli, and the sachet of cold water you buy every day, remains one of the biggest contributors to the economy and is open to everyone.
Oladunni Akara-Osu built a remarkable success in Ijeshaland by selling akara at a time when several banks, including the Saraki family's Savannah Bank, faced crises or failed, leaving many depositors with significant losses and a hole in the government's pocket.
