8th Annual NCEA Conference underway in Dallas, Texas, under the theme: " Firm Foundation, Forward in Vision".

Keynote address by Mr. Yosuf Saiq, Head of PFDJ Organizational Affairs, on current situation at home within the context of unfolding regional and global developments and trends; and, remarks on organizational matters by Mr. Berhane Ghebrehiwot, Charge d 'Affairs at the Eritrean Embassy in the US.

Annual Activity Reports by the youth and women segments of NCE; discussion papers on the experience, foresight and vision of the EPLF on education; ownership of national narrative as an element of strategic communication are some of the main events conducted so far in the ongoing four-day Conference.

Orotta College of Medicine and Health Sciences has conferred Post Graduate Clinical Specialist Degrees, 1st Degrees, and Diplomas to 114 Graduates, 60% of whom are female.

Academic fields of study include:
1. For the Post-Graduate segment: Specialties in Pathology; Pediatrics and Child Health Care; Radiology and Medical Imaging; Gyneacology and Obstetrics; General Surgery; and Internal Medicine respectively.
2. 1st Degree Courses: Doctors of Medicine (MD); Anesthesia Nursing; Midwife Nursing; Adult Health Nursing; Emergency and Critical Care Nursing; Ophthalmic Nursing; and, Clinical Laboratory Science.
3. Diploma Courses: Medical Laboratory Technician; an, Dental Therapy.

#Condolences: Veteran freedom fighter and seasoned diplomat, Minister Semere Russom, has passed away at the age of 83 due to illness.

Btsai Semere joined the EPLF in 1976 and served his nation and people in various capacities with exemplary dedication and distinction for almost half a century.

During the liberation struggle, Btsai Semere served as a Representative of the EPLF's Foreign Relations Department, and later, Head of Intelligence Services in the EPLF Office in Khartoum.

After independence, Btsai Semere was appointed as the First Secretary of the Provisional Government of Eritrea (PGE) in Sudan from 1991-1992; Director General for the American Desk in the Foreign Office from 1993-1996; Eritrea's Ambassador to the US from 1997-2003; Governor of Central Region from 2003-2006; and Minister of Education from 2007 until 2025.

Minister Semere Russom was also appointed and simultaneously served as Eritrea's Ambassador to Ethiopia from 2018 - 2025.

The Potemkin Party's disinformation pendulum appears to swing between two poles these days.

On the one-hand, the PP continues to ramp up its monotonous, albeit toxic, tone on the imperative for "sovereign access to the sea" and associated saber rattling that it has flaunted for more than two years now.

At the same time, there is a distinct twist/tone to its mendacious campaign in these times to portray itself as a "victim" of destabilization and thereby re-package its overarching irredentist agenda as a "legitimate act of self-defence".

The latest version in its playbook of ever-shifting fallacious arguments and pretexts consists of ludicrous misinterpretation of the long-settled EEBC Award; to ascertain with a straight face that the Award's implementation remains "unilateral and illegal action before physical demarcation is carried out through an agreed process".

These gimmicks are willfully floated to camouflage and divert attention from its reckless irredentist agenda which has been and remains the central kernel and driver of the tension in the region.

That the EEBC had closed shop in 2007 having delivered its demarcation decision - duly deposited at the UN Cartographic Office with copies to both parties - is indeed a matter of historical record. The bedrock of the Joint Declaration of Peace and Friendship between Eritrea and Ethiopia, that was signed in Asmara in 2018, was in fact Ethiopia's full and unequivocal, if belated, commitment to the implementation of the EEBC Award, (Art.4).

In the event, the Potemkin Party's U-turn is not surprising in many respects; as backstabbing, duplicity and deception are, indeed, part and parcel of its daily political staple.

Ethiopia: Belligerent Agenda of Regional Destabilization;

Scope and relevance of research papers submitted at the 8th Scientific Conference of the Eritrean Medical Laboratory Association (ERIMLA) is impressive indeed. These include:

National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students (NUWYS) hosted high-level panel at its HQ in Asmara under the theme: "Understanding the UN - Development, Peace and Eritrea's Global Voice".

Eritrea's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amb. Sophia Tesfamariam; and, UN Resident Coordinator in Eritrea, Ms. Nahla Valji, spoke at the event.

The panel focused on the operational mechanics of the UN and on the strategic ways in which Eritrea participates in global affairs.

The session was attended by UN officials and a diverse cross-section of Eritrean youth, including academic students, professionals and institutional representatives.

The platform offered the opportunity for the youth to discuss vital nexus between national development priorities and international diplomatic cooperation.

Potemkin Party's propaganda machine is on overdrive mode particularly these days to churn out a deluge of disinformation against Eritrea on a daily basis.

The menu/themes broached revolve around the same stale topics: revision of Eritrea's ancient, medieval & modern history to hoodwink public opinion and thereby "legitimize" the regime's illicit agenda of "sovereign access to the sea"; re-packaging of its reckless and adventurist agenda in the mantle of "self-defense"; distortion of Eritrea's normative diplomatic and economic cooperation ties in the wider neighborhood as "conspiracies" against Ethiopia; and disparaging of Eritrea's governance architecture and unparalleled social/national cohesion in its wholesale campaign of demonization... etc.

But while the themes remain the same, the new element in its latest disinformation spree is using official platforms - Foreign Policy Institute; Ethiopian Broadcast Corporation etc. - in lieu of unofficial mouthpieces (Horn Review; notorious lobbyists' and trolls ) that were the principal vehicles in the past.

1. First off, it will be pointless to waste time on mythology and manufactured narratives in as far as Eritrea's ancient, medieval and modern history are concerned. For serious students of history, there is indeed expansive literature based on rigorous archeological findings and interpretations on the Kingdom of Punt (from 1500 - 500 B.C.) that encompassed parts of modern Eritrea, Sudan, Djibouti, and extending toward Egypt); and the Adulis Civilization (300 B.C. - 700 A.D.) which predates and was latter concurrent, with sporadic linkages, to the Axumite Kingdom (300 - 700 A.D.). Historical reading of medieval and modern periods likewise illustrate that Ethiopia's meaningful presence in the Red Sea were confined to the unlawful Federation and Annexation periods that came about through the denial of Eritrea's right to decolonization. As such, there is no historical, legal, security or commercial rationale for its reckless and illicit of agenda of "sovereign access to the sea".
2. In this perspective, the Potemkin Party's new-found ploy to accuse Eritrea of "perennial subversion" stems from its transparent desire to change tack so as to rationalize its war agenda as "an act of self-defense". Indeed, official statements issued on the 25th Anniversary of the Algiers Agreement by the UN, the European Union, and several other countries have unequivocally reiterated the foundational principle of full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations as the normative parameter of international relations. PP's nominal change of tone and tactics is evidently designed to circumvent this explicit and unambivalent position.
3. The Potemkin Party is further feigning annoyance on speculative cooperation and port development agreements that Eritrea "has reportedly" reached with Egypt, Saudi Arabia etc. In the first place, Eritrea's cooperation policies with prospective partners from the region and the wider world are based on cardinal principles of symmetry and mutual interest. And as it is the case with other countries, they stem from, and are predicated on, its own prerogatives and national interest considerations. Eritrea's positive and constructive stance on the cooperation of the littoral States of the Red Sea in order to enhance the safety and security of this important global maritime route is also well-known and in the public domain. As such, it cannot be misconstrued for nefarious political ends.
4. Eritrea has been and remains an oasis of national cohesion, peace and harmony that leverages ethnic and religious diversity as an asset rather than a liability for stoking perpetual tension and conflict among its constituent parts. The Potemkin Party, which is presiding over spiraling internal conflicts due to governance deficit, is not, and cannot be, in a position to disparage Eritrea on these and other accounts.
5. In a nutshell, it is the Potemkin Party's misguided policies that are at the root cause of the manufactured "crisis". As it is, the panacea does not lie in finger pointing at, or scapegoating, Eritrea; but in rectifying its reckless agenda of "sovereign access to the sea".
