Worrying about weather or a tough course or the competition is not only unproductive, it is disruptive toward success. All energies should be focused on you preparing to be the best version of you.

“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.”
There is power in positivity. There is power in a smile.
Life is too short not to do both with consistency. Smile a little more, think positive thoughts a little more.

It's hard to do these things and not get better at running:
- lots of easy miles
- a little hard running
- a weekly long run
- eating lots of high-quality food
- practicing good sleep hygiene
Coaches can get exhausted if they constantly have to motivate and lecture you. Eventually, they may give up on you and focus on kids who actually want to work hard, learn, and improve. You'll regret your immaturity once you have no one helping you.
The most difficult part of coaching at every level is trying to get an athlete to believe that they are as good as you know they are. But when it happens it is magical for both athlete and coach.
