@BretDevereaux Hi, random unrelated question: I'm working on Senate simulator. Right now with 10 Quaestors elected every year, and using Bruce Frier's mortality rate estimates, it stabilizes at ~200 Senators. are my mortality assumptions too high? Or were there other ways to become a senator?
@CartoonsHateHer Cheating is bad, but honestly I’m not sure there’s *that* big a difference, if someone met someone new and connected emotionally, whether they waited until officially breaking things off with the first person before sleeping with the new person or not
@CartoonsHateHer I have a take: the roots of cottagecore fantasy is Tolkien and the way he depicts the Shire with traditional farming techniques and aesthetics but with modern agricultural yields and abundance
@CartoonsHateHer I have to carry out five-month old on my shoulder and walk in circles doing tiny little bounces to keep him calm. My wife can just sit down holding him on the crook of her arm while watching Netflix

@dilanesper@asymmetricinfo The internal sovereign homelands thing seems like a red herring. They’re kicking Palestinians out of their homes into smaller and smaller areas controlled by the PA. How is that substantively better? And Likud’s long term goal is for the Palestinians to not be there anymore.
@dilanesper@asymmetricinfo I said comparable, not exactly the same. I’d argue the separate legal systems, restrictions on movement, and unfair land allocation are more important than the fact it’s based on citizenship rather than explicit racial classification. As for deportation, Bibi et al are trying
