This year, I discovered I have a talent for being a child playroom therapist. If you're not familiar with playroom therapy, read Dibs in Search of Self
Once I found the school I wanted to go to, that was the only place I applied. I’m not one of those people that applies to five places just to see where they get in. I figure out where I want to go, and I just trust that I’ll get in.
I would have loved to go to school in Malibu, at a place like Pepperdine, but I didn’t want to take on that kind of debt. Where I am now, I don’t have to deal with LA traffic, and my tuition is low. I even have a partial scholarship (which is rare at the grad level).
Women love affectionate men, expressive men, romantic men, consistent men, considerate men. This is a million times more important than what they do for a living, how much money they make, how they look, or what car they drive
Meditation has taught me that most of us hold immense amounts of anger and fear in our bodies, and underneath those feelings is deep grief.
You have to be willing to feel your body for extended periods to get to the anger and fear. You have to be willing to be with the anger and fear with a compassionate presence to get to the grief.
And once you get to the grief, you have to be able to cry your heart out. And once you cry your heart out, a weight will lift, and once that weight lifts —your heart will fill with unimaginable amounts of love. And that love is the essence of your true nature.
There’s something so sacred and cathartic about sand tray therapy. Can accomplish in one session what would take four in regular therapy. Works for both adults and adolescents too. #unconscious#metaphor#psychodynamics
