While I was not with IBM in 1988 when the AS/400 was launched, the next summer I was assembling low-end AS/400s. The summer of 1992 I interned in the System Performance organization and I've been working on IBM i performance ever since. Happy 35th Anniversary IBM i!
I'm looking forward to updating the IBM i Large User Group (LUG) on the benefits of IBM i 7.5 and Power10 later today. Learn more about the LUG here: https://t.co/cL6Cae7EMf
IBM i 7.4, announced today, allows IBM i partitions on POWER9 to run full SMT8 up to 192 cores. This is up from 96 cores at SMT8 and 192 running SMT4.
Exceeding 48 cores in a single partition still requires going through a no-charge assessment with Lab Services. #ibmi
