After Sydney Crosby took an embellishment penalty. His first in his career. You gotta love the people looking up at the screen and seeing the embellishment, and then the woman’s expression to Crosby and Crosby’s expression back. This is Class stuff.
ok last one:🧵Let's talk Connor Bedard....accouting for QoC/QoT no #1 pick has ever had a more difficult deployment in his age 20 season where among the "generational" forwards like Crosby/McDavid etc....he's had BY FAR the worst offensive AND defensive deployment ever.
Only 3 age 20 forwards since 2007-08 have a 100+ pt pace per 82: Crosby, McDavid, and Connor Bedard....except the average forward would be expected to score about 35% more in the environments that McDavid/Crosby than the one Bedard plays in.
The Heart’s Playbook is a foundation started by Nick Foligno and his wife Janelle after their daughter, Milana, was born with congenital heart defects.
I'd invite every #Blackhawks fan to support them in any way you can:

People really need to stop looking at 2002-2007 as the roadmap. It's apples and oranges to what Davidson is doing today.
Duncan Keith wasn't drafted after a tank season, Brent Seabrook wasn't drafted after a tank season. So you have the first 2 cornerstones of those cup teams not drafted in tank seasons, and several other players who were contributors (Bolland, Brouwer, Byfuglien, Crawford, Hjalmarsson, Bickell) drafted after the 1st round when it's about luck and great scouting.
Then you had 2004 3rd overall pick wasted on Cam Barker, and post-lockout 2005 7th overall pick wasted on Jack Skille. No progress made there.
Tallon comes out of the lockout still thinking that Arnason, Bell, Calder and Ruutu were young building blocks and surrounds them with a lot of veterans: Aucoin, Cullimore, Lapointe, Barnaby, Simpson, Dowd, Spacek, Khabibulin, etc. During the season, Tallon quietly acquires Patrick Sharp from Philadelphia to little fanfare. Without actually trying to tank, they finish 3rd worst in the "new" NHL.
Tallon drafts Toews 3rd overall, and during the offseason decides to move on from Bell and Calder in separate trades that nets the team Martin Havlat and Michal Handzus (who doesn't play after the 8th game from a knee injury). They improve by 6 points and are now only the 5th worst team in the NHL, but manage to win the draft lottery and draft Patrick Kane 1st overall, who wasn't even seen as the consensus best player available.
Can you tell me how the hell you're supposed to follow that roadmap again?
