Yemen is ravaged by civil war, devastating famine, and deadly epidemics. Millions of Yemenis struggle daily for survival. Yet, the only issue Yemenis seem to agree on is the destruction of Israel.

The Houthis have spent millions on deadly drones sent toward Israel since October 7th—millions they could have spent to resolve their own humanitarian crises.

Why these protests against Israel rather than actions to secure food, clean water, and medical care? Instead of mobilizing to save their people, they divert their attention to an external conflict that will not alleviate their pain in any way.

Yemenis should focus their efforts on ending their own war and rebuilding their country, rather than getting lost in sterile hatred. Bombing Tel Aviv and wishing for America's death will certainly not help Yemen.

One reprehensible aspect of the 7/10 massacre was the open glee of the Hamas and Jihad terrorists during acts of butchety and taking murder-selfies.
And the jeering smirks of their supporters in the social media.
Then came the gloating of some Israeli soldiers looting and humiliating the Gazans, and the disgusting glee of some Israelis at pictures of dead Palestinian kids.
Over here, I get plenty of people totally pleased with themselves, and hugely enjoy telling me that I will soon have to “go back to Poland” (!?) and that my people and country are doomed.
There’s no full symmetry. For some reason, genuine friends of Israel on my feed wish the Palestinians well, and are not in the business of jeering.
Bottom line: some human beings get a kick from Schadenfreude, and they range from terrorist psychopaths to social media trolls.
I take courage from the fact that so many others detest this mentality.
One of them, the biblical author of Proverbs, wrote: “Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice.” It’s that simple: be a mentsch.
