@cher what is your advice for Being ahead of your time/the curve? Sure you felt misunderstood, under recognized and "outside of the tent". Acknowledge that you must have already felt "outside of the tent" for being a woman in addition to being a goddess ahead of your time.
As we said at the beginning of this election cycle, the dismissal of Marianne Williamson was unfair. Joe Biden needed a serious opponent and Marianne Williamson was the first person who had the courage to challenge him.

Happy holidays everyone! May the universal thread of Love guide you into the upcoming year, igniting hope that fuels impactful action in service of the greater good.
@elonmusk - DEI are great values for any society to aspire to. Surely you see that eventually our collective ego latches onto all that is good and wholesome, distorts it, subjudicate it and bends its to its will. That does not mean the underlying ethos is incorrect.

“Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” are propaganda words for racism, sexism and other -isms.
This is just as morally wrong as any other racism and sexism. Changing the target class doesn’t make it right!
Grateful for an amazing December at @Liberty_IT! 🎄🥳 I’m so thankful for all the opportunities, connections, laughs and growth this year has brought! 🥰 Cheers to a fantastic 2023! #GreatPlaceToWork
We are thrilled to announce we’ve been shortlisted for two @BelTel@BelTel_Business IT Awards - an amazing reflection of the passion and commitment of all our teams 🎉
I've just recieved an email from the most amazing person.
He was with my dad on the Bridge yesterday just as it happened. They were just passing each other but they exchanged a friendly smile to each other. Almost immediately after my Dad collapsed.
John explains 1/3
Nature is a series of miracles. We can't know the essence of Life (call it Source, Love, God, Dao, Brahman, Allah...) without attention to nature; the natural order cannot be sustainable without compassion, justice and equity; without putting asside our instinctive self-regard.
We’re getting prepared for @LibertyMutual's #IgniteHackathon, a three-day innovation extravaganza that allows employees to flex their skills and tackle real-world business problems 🚀
Stay tuned this week for more updates and behind-the-scenes insights.
Almost everything about growing the size and scale of your team has immediate and detrimental impacts to the thing that matters the most: building awesome products.
Unless you actively fight against these effects, you’ll wake up one day with a very effective bureaucracy machine and a very poor product (and a slow moving product delivery machine.)
What are some of the worst offenses?
MEETINGS
- steal builder time
- incubate consensus cultures
- slow cycles (“let’s follow up next week”)
- 1:1s silo decisions
- bias teams to value presentation & argument over delivery & outcomes
PROCESS
- slows cycles (follow the gates)
- diffuses ownership
- creates overspecialization (and it’s partner, over- hiring)
- abstracts away decision making
- errs to complexity vs simplicity
POLICY
(I mean this generally, across everything from HR, finance, security, IT, etc.)
- encourages risk aversion
- keeps teams from exercising risk-adjusted judgement
- slows cycles (blocks & reviews)
- dampens innovation & the art of the possible
- can hurt top talent retention (too structured comp/review cycles)
- can make your hiring process slow and less competitive
- makes experimentation too hard
OPERATING
- people start to play for promotions, not company growth
- talk more about the how of the work, vs the what and why if the work
- leaders lose track of the details
- teams lose track of the bigger picture
- customers become data points and % rates, not real people with real problems
All of these things: meetings, process, policy and operating models are necessary for high scale and trusted delivery AND YET teams that forget to actively and aggressively prune the worst effects of these things out of their company will soon regret it.
Watch out for these effects. Immediately intervene. Don’t reward these behaviors explicitly (promos/levels) or implicitly (culture.) Be ruthless. Try things that feel a little bananas (cancel all the meetings! yolo into prod every now and then!) Show AND tell.
Stay a startup.
Stay an owner.
