“You worked overtime for paychecks that turned into rust and dust; but you walked right over the field of the Word, where an incorruptible treasure was to be found, and yet were too lazy to do anything about it.”
@smashbaals When people debate 1 Corinthians 14, if they would simply read all the way through verse 37…Says exactly that it’s the commandment of Jesus.
@sola_chad “As a carpenter lays his rule against the board to determine if it’s straight or crooked, so the Word must be the Rule of our reasoning. The Word is our standard Rule and we can always trust it to be right.”
@sola_chad “Faith must not depend on reason, but reason on faith. I am not to believe what the Word says merely because it agrees with my reason; but I may believe my reason only when it aligns with the Word.”
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned. Then Jesus began preaching “Repent”
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from old, from everlasting.
@grcastleberry Also, the drastic difference in the reality of Romans 7 compared to Romans 8. Both are the experience of a believer. The difference in Romans 8 is the believer is filled with and walking with the Spirit.
@grcastleberry Holy living cannot happen without being filled with the Holy Spirit. It requires the empowerment of God’s own Spirit in a believer. This filling doesn’t happen automatically at salvation. Acts 1, Acts 8, Luke 11, Galations 5.
If you’re a Christian and your life feels more like Romans 7 than Romans 8, you need to ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. You can’t get there by your own effort. But you can by His Spirit’s power in you. Jesus calls this “the Promise of the Father” Acts 1:4,8
@GovMikeHuckabee@janethuckabee God’s menorah He commanded His people to make, patterned after the one He has in heaven, only has 7 lights. Not sure what that is.
@christopheryuan The epistles couldn’t be clearer, and they are the commandments of Jesus. 1 Corinthians 14:37 “If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.”
