• First Grand Slam in the State AA Tournament - Sophomore

Select Fastpitch 18- Chester looking to add 1 top level pitcher to round out our strong roster. Non parent head coach and a current D1 athlete as an assistant. A great opportunity for tons of exposure, high level development and lots of innings! We will play a strong schedule in the summer to get our athletes ready to make an impact at the next level. Events include Top Gun Select, Top Club Nationals, Colorado Sparkler and TC Summer Nationals to name a few. This can be an opportunity for a 2 way player as well if it’s the right fit. 4-0 in pool play here in TX at the @TopGunEvents Lone Star Invitational. Had all 5 RBI’s in game 4 with a 3 run walk-off HR and 2 run HR in the 3rd. Had some great defensive plays today as well! Start bracket play tomorrow at 9:50am, Hurst Athletic Complex field 3!

Super proud of this Select Chester team in our first weekend together! We won our pool and made it to semis at the @TopGunEvents Select KC Invite. Hit lead off with some doubles and big HR in the semifinal game. I played LF, 3rd, 2nd, short and caught and having a lot of fun!!

A year ago today I read the biopsy report email.

Fight or die.

That’s the choice cancer gives the patient. Easy decision. You fight. You fight for your family but they do not get a choice. Family is forced to watch. Watch you turn into skin and bones as you are injected and exposed to poison hoping the cancer dies before you do. Watch while cancer steals their opportunities, the magnitude of their firsts and lasts, their possible once in a lifetimes, and maybe you.

Cancer is more than a patient fighting a disease. It haunts you and your family from diagnosis day. The anxiety of wondering when it’s coming back, why was your family put through this horror, why did you survive and that friend you met during treatment didn’t.

For cancer awareness, ask the loved ones of the patient how they are holding up, especially during treatment. Ask the survivor how they are doing a year or more after treatment when the high of winning the first battle is over. The fight is longer than treatment and some days harder.
