So @RaleighTranspo gave up the station-based bikeshare system it owned. And while I put years of effort getting that system off the ground, I fully support the change to the new dockless paradigm.
Now if only @limebike actually put some bikes on the streets around here... π€·π»ββοΈ
Hey, Raleigh! Our Cardinal Bikeshare system is now officially offline β a little earlier than planned β as we get ready for something even better. Sorry for the gap in service, but the wait will be short. Our new dockless bikeshare pilot launches on Monday, Aug. 18!
@rpmm24 No, it's a legit maintenance issue. But I'm sure somebody within the administration will use this as an excuse to justify getting rid of it altogether.
@GridlockSam I read the Secretary's letter to NY regarding the termination - their position is that tolling federal aid surface streets is illegal and shouldn't have been approved in the first place, which is a shame. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in court...
The Oberlin Road Streetscape Project is nearing completion. Contractors are addressing some final punch list items and working to resolve water pooling issues near the bike lanes.

New York's (de)congestion pricing, which charges $9 to drive into Manhattan below 60 St, has reduced traffic, increased ridership, reduced subway crime, and is raising funds to fix the decaying transit system. Rare for a public policy to have this many benefits!

Buried in the flurry of Executive Orders last night is one that halts all funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Yes, the law that Republicans and Democrats came together to pass that fixes our roads, modernizes old bridges, and makes drinking water safer.
@T4America @BethOsborneT4A Wow, fresh perspective? Seriously? I think the reality is that we can all kiss rail and alternative transportation funding goodbye if Trump's first term is any indication. This pick all but determines that outcome.
Really enjoying the comments from former Hoboken, NJ transportation director Ryan Sharp today in Chapel Hill at the annual @bikewalknc meeting. They used an incremental approach and a safe systems philosophy to be a true Vision Zero city. No traffic deaths in the last 7 years!
@RackStackula@murphsturph No, you'll damage the market irreparably. The Bulls are absolutely the best minor league team in the US, and a MLB team next door would destroy that franchise.
And frankly there just aren't enough people here to support an 83-game season.
This has been one of my arguments against trying to bring MLB to the Triangle. MLS would've been much better.
I go to a lot of Bulls games on weekdays and the DBAP is barely half full. The last matinee game was barely a third full.
@MLBRaleigh is not a good idea.
